Into the book
The story of the Bible begins in Eden.
Modern people often think of Eden as a fairytale-like imaginary land, but the Bible consistently emphasizes from beginning to end that each story is about a specific place and specific people.
This means that the Bible itself reveals its historicity.
---From "Chapter 1: Biblical Worldview"
Isaac's life is very similar to Jesus'.
There are many points in the story of Isaac that remind us of Jesus, such as ① the miraculous birth (the virgin birth), ② the act of going up Mount Moriah in obedience to the Father's words (Jesus carrying the cross and going up to Golgotha), and ③ the Lamb of God prepared there (Jesus himself becoming the sacrificial lamb).
---From "Episode 2: To Canaan"
The law can be said to be fundamentally a means of love that the holy God provided to maintain His relationship with His people.
The fundamental intent of this law is clearly revealed in Deuteronomy.
Deuteronomy emphasizes that the law is “not difficult or far away” (Deut. 30:11), and that the fundamental goal of the law is for the people to “love the Lord their God” (Deut. 10:12).
---From "Episode 4: In the Wilderness"
There have been two covenants so far.
The Abrahamic Covenant and the Sinai Covenant.
The Abrahamic Covenant was an unconditional promise: "I will give you descendants and land," while the Sinai Covenant was a conditional promise: "If you obey in the Promised Land, I will be your God."
Interestingly, the Davidic covenant given through Nathan was both a conditional and an unconditional covenant.
---From "Episode 7: The Birth of a Kingdom"
There were also positive changes.
The temple was gone, but in its place a 'synagogue' was built.
In the synagogue, the law was taught and learned so as not to lose one's national identity.
Israel's religious style has gradually changed from being centered on offerings to being centered on books, piety, and practice.
---From "Episode 12: Return of the Prisoner"
Just as the moon waxes and wanes, so too did Persia, over time, begin to reveal its increasingly imperialistic ambitions.
Persia attempted to subdue Greece using the rebellion of the Ionian cities in the East or in the Greek region as an excuse, which led to the First Persian War in 490 BC and the Second Persian War in 480 BC.
Surprisingly, the Greeks won, leaving Persia in an awkward position.
---From "Episode 14: The Age of Hell"
Hebraism is entirely theocentric.
Jehovah God alone is the most important value, and He is the Creator and Master of the entire world.
Therefore, Hebraism insists on strict monotheism (not recognizing any other gods besides Jehovah God).
In contrast, Hellenism recognizes all gods, even those whose names are unknown, as gods.
---From "Episode 15: The Maccabee Revolution"
On July 19, AD 64, a large fire broke out in Rome out of nowhere.
It was an unprecedented fire that reduced 10 of Rome's 14 districts to ashes.
As the capital of the empire was burned down, voices demanding political responsibility from the then emperor Nero grew louder. In order to avoid the situation, Nero began to persecute Christians who were secretly establishing themselves within the empire at the time, accusing them of being arsonists.
