The essence of faith
Description
Book Introduction
What is faith?
How does it come about and how does it grow?
Pastor Park Young-sun talks about 'faith'.
Faith exists only between persons.
In other words, faith is what connects us with God, who is a person.
Belief in God requires a harmony of purpose and is not mere passion or blind faith.
Faith requires us to constantly think, ponder, and discern.
It also emphasizes that the most important thing in faith is love.
In other words, it proves that the essence of faith is to resemble Jesus in all aspects.

Into the book
Our assurance of our salvation is always based on our seeing God's faithfulness, eternity, and faithful will.
--- p.76
Faith is not a method, a means, or a condition.
For the believer, faith is content.
Faith is knowing God and loving God.
--- p.76
Our faith is ultimately about knowing God and being in God.
--- p.97
Having good faith means that your relationship with God is always alive.
The relationship of being alive is one in which I stand before God, think about God's pleasure and becoming like Him, decide to do so, and act accordingly.
--- p.111~112
Trust is the highest level of trust between persons.
The relationship between the saved people and God is called faith.
Since faith is gained through a relationship with God, God must first bestow salvation before faith can begin.
This salvation means standing on God's side, knowing God, and being reconciled with God.
So, salvation and faith exist only through God's unilateral and gracious beginning.
--- p.121
All beliefs are based on facts and refer to existing persons.
What is the content of the Christian faith, and what is its credible basis? It is based on the truth of its content and the fact that the one who guarantees it is a personally holy and authentic being.
When God reveals Himself to us, our souls react to it, test it, and make a decision.
--- p.150
What God finds most beautiful is when we confess our faith in Him and practice loving Him.
What we practice, strive for, and strive for is the spiritual worship that God accepts.
We must practice voluntarily gathering our hearts, minds, and souls before God, and making efforts and efforts.
We must strive until the image of God that God requires of us is completed, until we reach the position of children of God in Christ Jesus.
This is our responsibility, this is what God intended for us, and this is what pleases Him most.
--- p.173
Having good faith does not mean that you can live easily in the name of faith.
Good faith means facing all the threats, temptations, and trials of the world, not being exempt from any of the world's benefits, not compromising with the world, but risking everything and holding on to Jesus.

Publisher's Review
God opens one life to faith.
The word 'open' literally means to open a door, open a window, open a new horizon, open a new world.
Just as God opened up the entire universe, He opens up our lives through faith.
The lives of the heroes of faith, prophets, and apostles we encounter in the Bible may seem like unrealistic stories from the distant past.
They seem to have nothing to do with our miserable lives.
But God has chosen to show us their lives especially today so that we may come to know and learn about our lives and the God who created them.
If we look around carefully, we see that even now, among us, there are lives like Joseph's, filled with darkness, lives like Moses', lives filled with nothing to do, lives like Job's, frustrated by hardship and adversity, and lives like Habakkuk, filled with anger at the absurdity of the world.
And there are lives like Paul's, where we are obsessed with the idea that this is what the God we know should be like.
Even if I just look into my life without looking far, I see myself sometimes like Joseph, sometimes like Moses, and sometimes like Habakkuk.
God is turning these 'ugly' lives around.
God opens these closed and oppressed lives through faith.
It is not the life-changing or life-changing thing that the world often talks about.
We have the Lord.
There is a living Lord who listens when I speak and lets me know when I ask.
How can words possibly describe the trembling and weeping contained in Job's confession, "I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you"? In this way, countless lives bear witness, unwaveringly testifying to God's Godhood, without swaying to the right or left.
“And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets” (Hebrews 11:32).
This book is an extension of God's Zeal, which was revised and published in 2017.
‘Faith’ is a lifelong challenge for me.
I thank God for allowing me to testify to my faith as a preacher, even though I am lacking.
