Book Introduction
"Tongkeun Tongdok," a book that provides Bible reading software
Korean churches that read the Bible build their lives on the Word (Psalm 119:28)!
This Bible reading book was created after 15 years of preparation, 16 lectures, and 2 years of production starting in 1995. It was published in 2010 by Ezra Ministry under the title “90-Day Bible Reading from the Perspective of the Kingdom of God: The Word Becomes Life,” and then in 2012, Duranno published “90-Day Bible Reading from the Perspective of the Kingdom of God” and “Comprehensive Reading,” with 52 printings until January 2017. After that, Ezra Book Publishing published a revised edition again under the title “90-Day Bible Reading from the Perspective of the Kingdom of God” and “The Word Becomes Life.”
A comprehensive understanding of the Bible is the foundation of all religious life.
Not having a correct, holistic understanding of the Bible is like building a house of faith on sand (Matthew 7:24-27).
That's why, no matter how long you go to church, you can't help but live a life without change.
It is not the various events or programs of the church that bring about change, but the “Word.”
The “Word” has already been involved in creation, and now it is bringing about the work of “re-creation (restoration).”
Therefore, if you read the “Word” and do not understand it, there will be no change in your life of faith.
That “word” is the Bible, and a life of faith that does not read the Bible is not a life of faith.
It could be church life.
The change brought about by the “Word” is the true change.
That is why the title of this book is “The Word Becomes Life.”
[Reading the Bible in the Redemptive History to Restore the Kingdom of God] The Korean church's zeal has been in prayer and Bible study, and over the past six years since this book was published, gatherings for reading the entire Bible have been increasing in Korean churches in Korea and overseas.
Why, then, does the church in the world not change? Clearly, the Word of God is powerful and mighty.
Pastor Joo Hae-hong says the reason is that 'the Bible is not being read from the perspective of the kingdom of God.'
If we read the Bible from the perspective of the Kingdom of God, our lives will naturally change from a 'self-centered life' (a life of artificiality) to a 'God-centered life' (a life of obedience to God).
For Christians, who have become God's people, all the suffering in life comes from their artificial life of trying to solve their problems on their own.
Therefore, Christians must pursue a life of faith that returns to the Word and God's will.
This is a holy life, a set apart life.
Look at our churches. Whenever problems arise within the church, how many times do we try to solve them with human means (human thoughts, wisdom, and experience) rather than divine means? To turn an artificial life into a divine life, we need to read the Bible correctly.
That is the comprehensive reading of the Bible that places the Kingdom of God at the core of holiness.
The Bible contains the message that God establishes our lives and that the kingdom of God is restored to righteousness.
Therefore, if we read the Bible from the perspective of the Kingdom of God, the Bible can come alive and move within us and bring about change.
Reading the Bible holistically means reading it while grasping its context.

Publisher's Review
[Features of this book]
The Bible's order has been reorganized according to chronological and temporal flow. To read the Bible with interest, one must simultaneously read it by following the storyline (storyline) and by its message (plotline).
Reading along the plot as discussed in this book means reading the content by reconstructing it according to the chronological flow of the Bible, and reading by message means reading the Bible related to the topic or background of that time. For example, when reading David's storyline, a method of reading 2 Samuel, the Chronicles related to that content, and the Psalms written according to his situation together - by reading the Bible in this way, you can understand the storyline according to the flow of time and the background (context) of that time.
This book provides a biblical theological perspective to understand the context of the Bible and its message. This book encourages readers to read the Bible through the lens of the "Kingdom of God," a concept of redemptive history in biblical theology.
The history of the Bible is precisely the history of redemption, and that history is the history of the restoration of the kingdom of God.
Therefore, those who desire the restoration of the kingdom of God will live a transformed life that puts into practice the will of God that they have come to understand through the Bible and builds the kingdom of God on this earth.
And all understanding of the Bible must be based on a holistic understanding, and a holistic understanding must be an understanding with a perspective (a biblical theological context).
That's why we need to understand the Bible from a different perspective.
Reading the Bible in context means understanding it with perspective.
To that end, this book helps you read the Bible in two ways:
This book provides the following methods: 1) Reading along the storyline 2) Grasping the message and reading (Following the plotline).
The order of the Bible was reclassified according to its contents and time flow.
Many people lose interest in reading the Bible because they cannot grasp the flow of the content while reading it in the order of the books of the Bible. This is the difficulty of reading the Bible in its entirety.
There are two ways to read the Bible: reading according to the storyline and reading according to the message (plotline).
To read the Bible with interest, you must do both.
First, the plot must be understandable, and for this to happen, the content of the Bible must be reclassified and grouped according to the flow of time so that it can be read.
This book provides that.
For example, when reading David's storyline, you read 2 Samuel, 1 Chronicles related to the story, and Psalms written according to his situation.
Especially in the era of the divided kingdom, the background of the times in which each prophet was active was grouped together with historical books such as the Book of Kings to make it easier to understand the chronological flow of the Bible and follow the storyline.
In doing so, it provides an explanation of the content that helps us understand the message and read God's heart in the context of that time.
Provides a biblical theological perspective to find the context of the Bible to understand its message.
I believe that the religious life of Koreans is like that of Bong-i Kim Seon-dal, who is looking for a needle in a haystack by the well, trying to get the fruit in one breath, as befits the urgent Bible.
As a result, the center of faith is centered on ups and downs, and it is very unfortunate that people try to interpret the Bible in such a distorted way.
The Bible clearly emphasizes that we should place love of God and love of neighbor on the same level and practice them.
As faith becomes a faith of ups and downs, not only is the Bible distorted, but Christianity also becomes a public nuisance to society.
So, I started a lecture on reading the Bible from the perspective of God's heart.
After leading small groups for nearly 20 years, we accumulated a wealth of information and decided to publish it as a book with the intention of further popularizing this type of Bible reading.
The purpose of this Bible reading is not to increase the number of times we read the Bible, but to accurately find the message God gives us through the Bible and to change our lives in the direction God wants us to go.
To do this, we read the Bible from the following three biblical theological perspectives.
1) The Bible is a record of God's eschatological work of human redemption.
2) It is a book that contains God's desire to establish the Kingdom of God, where God's rule is completely restored through history.
3) This book provides the standards by which saints must become God's people in order to establish the kingdom of God and live a holy life, that is, a distinct life, in order to become God's people.
In addition to the above biblical theological perspective, there are three concepts that must be understood:
1) Divine action (God takes the lead and accomplishes it) - God's method
2) Artificial (human-led and human-directed) - human method
3) Egocentrism
When reading the Bible to find the message God gives us from this perspective and concept, we must first read the Bible in its outline form to accurately understand the message.
To do this, we must read the Bible in chronological order.
Because the Bible is not abstract and metaphysical like other religious scriptures.
Because God is working in the created world, that is, in time and space, we must understand the temporal and spatial aspects of His work.
In reading the message, we read God's heart and receive grace.
For that reason, we read this book from the perspective of the Bible, that is, from the perspective of biblical theology.
We often call it the context of the Bible.
The biblical theological perspective of this Bible reading is based on the “Kingdom of God.”
The Bible is God's story (His-Story) of how Eden, the first country God provided for the blessed life of mankind, was lost when mankind sinned, and how God tried to restore that lost country.
In biblical theology, this is called the history of redemption.
Therefore, the history of the Bible is precisely the history of redemption, and that history is the history of the restoration of the kingdom of God.
God's heart, as revealed in the Bible, is to establish this kingdom of God in the lives of His people.
So Jesus taught his disciples to pray, “Thy kingdom come.”
The message of the Bible is that his kingdom is realized in our lives when we obey God's will, and that obedience is achieved by living a life that is distinct from the values of this world according to God's will.
This Bible reading is guided by this perspective.
Why 90 days?
It is the earnest desire of all believers to read the Bible through as quickly as possible.
However, I think that reading the entire Bible is not an easy task due to busy schedules and the difficulty of the Bible.
There is a 60-day Bible reading plan, but it requires about 3 hours a day, and the annual reading plan requires about 3 chapters a day, so it doesn't require a lot of time, but it's not easy to continue for a year.
If you can devote 40 minutes to an hour a day, you can read the Bible in 90 days (3 months).
This is also done while grasping and understanding the basic truth (context) given by the Bible.
This book is designed to help busy people read the Bible quickly and gracefully.
This book is one that allows you to read the Bible directly.
Most books about reading the Bible through are books about reading through it.
This book is one that allows you to read the Bible directly.
The entire Bible has 1189 chapters, and it is divided into 90-day portions to be read, and it is reorganized chronologically. It also provides explanations so that you can read the daily portion by following the plot and message, allowing you to read the Bible yourself.
Audio files are provided to help you focus on reading the Bible.
We provide audio files so that you can read the Bible while listening to it so that you can focus on the Bible without thinking about anything else when reading it.
All 66 books of the Bible were recorded in 50 hours, read at a fast pace, with accurate pronunciation by professional voice actors, following the storyline of the book.
If you read at the reading speed of this Bible listening audio file, you can read the Bible in 50 hours.
