If you love, be like Jesus
If you love, be like Jesus
Description
Book Introduction
A book that lets you experience the essence of 1 Corinthians 13

The American magazine 'Christianity Today' praised this book, saying it was a great book worthy of more than five stars.
Also, authoritative evangelical theologians John MacArthur, Tim Keller, DA
Influential ministers such as Carson, Michael Card, and Tulian Chavidin also sent loving testimonials.

There are countless meditations on love and commentaries on 1 Corinthians 13 in the world, but none have presented such a unique development and profound insight as "Love Like Jesus."
Through this book, readers will gain a new paradigm for love and will come to possess love as a verb, not a noun, in their lives.
The study guide included at the end of the book is also very helpful.
As the author has completed this book through verification with church members, it will be possible to share deeper empathy and application in small groups at home and church.
As stated in the preface, the author confesses that by sharing the contents of this book with his congregation, he experienced a remarkable change in the church and learned how to love and follow Jesus.
I hope that the same amazing miracle of love will happen in the Korean church as well.
As Albert Mohler said, if you love like Jesus, you are 'God's gift to the whole church.'

STUDY GUIDE

Into the book
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to love as much as God wants us to love.
We are ready to give.
But give only when you have more to spare.
I am also ready to serve.
But serve only within the limits of what is comfortable.
You can love.
But I love only when I am guaranteed a reward.
But Jesus is completely different from us.
Only Jesus can do “God’s love, amazing love.”

We see love in the humility of Jesus, who left the glory of heaven and took on human flesh.
I see love in the way he endures those around him in order to be healed.
We see love in the way He did not assert His own will in the Garden of Gethsemane but obeyed on the cross.
We see love in the way He endures suffering for our sins.
I see love in the mercy of forgiveness shown to enemies.
We see love in the faith that asks God to raise us from the grave.

We must show our neighbors the love that the Lord has shown us.
He did not love us just for our sake alone.
Jesus wants us to learn His love so that His love can flow to others.

People see our love and know that we are Christians.

Publisher's Review
“God is love.
He proved it through Jesus.”
“No book has ever expressed God’s love so well.”

Misunderstanding about love
1 Corinthians 13, the so-called “love chapter,” is one of the most familiar passages of the Bible to people.
So many Christians read, memorize, and sing that word.
But how many people fully understand all these attributes of love: "Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy. Love does not boast or boast...."? Many people talk about love and think about it, but they don't have a concrete picture of it.
They just use it to comfort each other in a vague longing for something good and beautiful.
However, contrary to such people's misunderstanding, in 1 Corinthians 13, the Apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthians, who were full of self-centered thoughts, to live a better life and presented the importance of love and specific methods.
In other words, the book of love is not a word that comforts people's hearts with vague and abstract emotions, but a word of challenge to those without love who believe that their own way is the best way to understand, worship, serve, and dedicate themselves to God.

The perfect love shown by Jesus
So then how should we love?
Can we truly practice the love that 1 Corinthians 13 speaks of in our lives?
Surprisingly, there is a specific example, a perfect model, in the Bible.
It is Jesus Christ.
Phil Ryken, author of "Love Like Jesus," says in his book that 1 Corinthians 13 is a portrait of Jesus.
And it has a unique structure that explains Paul's love story through the story of Jesus and his disciples.

Through this book, readers will discover that all the attributes of love are truly embodied in Jesus' public life, and at the same time, they will be drawn into the exciting story.
And you will be so immersed in the overflowing love of Jesus that you will want to share that love.
Moreover, you will come to a more concrete understanding of the concept of love that you have vaguely known until now, and you will draw a vivid picture of how to put it into practice in your life, and you will come to deeply understand why God is true love and perfect love.
