Description
Book Introduction
After the COVID-19 pandemic
The second edition has been revised and added to the contents of 'Worship', 'Church', and 'Church Life'!

A newly revised, classic introduction to the faith!

The first edition of 『New Believer's Class』 was published in 1994, and a revised edition with more complete sentences was published in 2008. Then, in response to the changes in our daily lives following the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, a revised second edition was published with revised and added content related to 'worship,' 'church,' and 'church life.'
『New Believer's Class』, which has been loved by many as an introduction to faith, is the most widely read book among Pastor Jae-cheol Lee's works.

『The New Believer Class』 covers important topics that those who are born again in Christ face, including God, me (human), Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, prayer, church, worship, church life, and family life, spanning 10 chapters.
True and touching anecdotes, specific and clear descriptions, and restrained expressions help readers understand and amplify the emotion each time.
After closing this book, the author has been striving to live a life worthy of his message, as “the true worship called life begins,” and this resonates with readers, making the impact of “The New Believer’s Class” even greater.

The "new believers" referred to in this book are not only those who have just entered the path of faith, but also all those who have decided to live a new life with Jesus Christ.
As 『The New Believer's Class』 helps lay the foundation for the everyday aspects of life that believers face, properly organizing this book will help you re-establish the foundation for true life and serve as a solid foundation for spiritual advancement.
Readers' responses, such as "I can't forget that feeling," "It's new no matter how many times I read it," "It's the best for nurturing new believers," and "It's a book that challenges you to live a life of faith again," support this fact.
Just as a traveler embarking on a new path needs a new map, I hope that through the "Renewed New Believer Class," you will continue to walk the path of mature life and mature wisdom.

After writing

Into the book
The new believer class born in 1994 was reborn with a revised edition in 2008 when it was 14 years old.
As stated in the preface to the revised edition, the purpose was to refine the content of the new believer's class, which had to be completed in just two weeks in 1994 due to circumstances.
And this year, when I turned 27, it was reborn as a revised second edition.
This was intended to supplement the content of "church," "worship," and "church life" in relation to online worship and online churches, which emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic that swept the world last year.

I don't know how long this book, which is 27 years old this year, will last.
However, while this book has life, I earnestly pray that the life of the Lord who broke death and rose again will overflow every day in the hearts of all who read it.

---From “Presenting the Second Revised Edition”

God is like this too.
A God who overcomes and rejoices over weak humans cannot be a true God.
Because God is God, He always gives in to weak humans.
This is why God always answers humans.
If you were in my shoes, how many times would you grant a request, even from a close friend? If a friend repeated the same request three times, you'd probably stop looking at him.
But how many petitions do we offer to God? Whenever we open our mouths toward God, we are met with requests and demands.
Yet, God does not ignore our repeated requests without warning.
God always answers us in His own way.
Do you know why? Because, despite all our impudence, God is a "giving God."

From “Who is God?”

This is a scene where the Lord calls four disciples from the same place.
The Lord did not give them money.
He did not promise them high positions.
Nevertheless, the disciples followed the Lord.
Is it because they are people of great determination? No.
Because the word of the Lord has the ‘power to call.’
Saul was originally a persecutor who persecuted and imprisoned believers in Jesus.
How strong must his ego have been? Saul, such a man, followed the Lord at the Lord's single voice calling him.
It is because of the ‘calling power’ of the Word.

From "The Bible"

A church is not a chapel building.
The church is not an institution.
The church is 'people'.
As online worship became widespread due to the COVID-19 pandemic that quickly engulfed the world in 2020, many people insisted that worship must be held in church.
This is because we have been mistaking ‘church’ for ‘chapel building.’
The church is not a chapel building, but the 'people' who believe in the Lord, that is, 'us'.
The fact that online churches are being established during the COVID-19 pandemic is also possible because the church is not a building or institution, but rather "people."
Because people's gatherings can take place anytime, anywhere, transcending time and space online.
In this way, since the church is made up of ‘people,’ if the church has become corrupt, it does not mean that the building or the system is corrupt, but that we, the church, have become corrupt.
So, how should we, Christians who have become a church, cultivate ourselves as a church to become a church worthy of the name?

From "The Church"

Those who are negative about online worship and online churches criticize that meeting of believers, that is, holy fellowship among believers, is impossible online.
Their favorite Bible verse is, “Do not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing” (Hebrews 10:25).
But online doesn't eliminate the fellowship of believers; it makes it easier.
The movement of believers centered around the chapel is subject to various constraints in terms of time and distance.
But there are no restrictions online.
We can communicate with each other online whenever and wherever we need to.
It goes without saying that believers living in the same area can share fellowship not only online but also in person.
