Tim Keller, Romans 1 for You
Description
Book Introduction
[Romans for You] Volume 1 with Pastor Tim Keller.
Tim Keller points out that we cannot enjoy the true freedom and joy of the gospel because we try to overcome sin and become righteous through our own human will, zeal, church standards and doctrines, or moral living.
In this book, the author points out the problems of all attempts to become righteous through one's own efforts, and presents in detail the sharp solutions that the gospel offers.

Into the book
This is a very serious problem.
If you think you are saved by faith, you will stop looking at Christ and start looking at your faith.
If you are caught up in doubt, life will be unsettling, and if you are not feeling well or confident, you will be consumed by worry.
This is because you have made the mistake of turning faith into "action"! Faith is not the cause of salvation, but merely a tool.
If you don't pay attention to this point, you will think, 'I was saved because I believed in Jesus,' and think you have something to boast about.
This is a subtle misunderstanding that erodes our confidence and exalts our pride.
Verse 27 says that the gospel leaves no room for boasting --- p.135-136
God did not set aside judgment, but rather turned it against himself.
The cross is not a compromise that satisfies both God's wrath and God's love.
Rather, it completely satisfies both wrath and love through the same thing.
On the cross, both God's wrath and God's love were justified, clearly revealed, and perfectly expressed.
Both were dazzlingly brilliant and perfectly executed.
The cross clearly demonstrates both God's judgment and God's righteous love (Romans 3:25-26).

Why Romans Should Be Required Reading for Christians Today
Because there is no book that changes people as much as the Book of Romans, and those changed people then change the world.
It is a well-known fact that Saint Augustine, Martin Luther, John Calvin, and John Stott experienced spiritual revival through the words of the Epistle to the Romans.
But sometimes I wonder what it was about Romans that changed them.
If you are curious and confused about what the book of Romans is about and what the gospel means to us living in this day and age, read Romans with Tim Keller.
The gospel is not just words, but the power of God to save people.
If we fully and accurately understand the words of Romans, we confess that the gospel is not just a collection of words, but is truly the power of God that saves lives and souls.
You have not tasted the glory of the gospel without experiencing the history of your entire soul falling down before God.
Tim Keller points out that we cannot enjoy the true freedom and joy of the gospel because we try to overcome sin and become righteous through our own human will, zeal, church standards and doctrines, or moral living.
In this book, Tim Keller points out the problems with all attempts at self-righteousness and offers a detailed, insightful solution from the gospel.
Understanding the gospel is the way to welcome God's power into our lives.
Tim Keller reaffirms that everyone needs the gospel.
And understanding the gospel reminds us that it is the way to welcome God's power into our lives.
It makes us realize the blessing of those who have accepted that he is justified by faith in him, not by any other works, and the glory of the gospel.
A great guide for those who teach personal meditation and Bible study!

This is not a gospel 'again' directed at us who are struggling to rebuild the collapsing church by returning to pure faith under the slogan 'Back to the Gospel', but a painful invitation to 'always' return to the Gospel, and a summons to repentance for us who have distorted the Gospel.

Whenever the Book of Romans encounters pressing questions of the times, it has greatly shaken the direction and content of Christian faith.

〈Romans 1-7 for You〉 is, in a word, a strong book for the laity.
As a book aimed at those without advanced knowledge of the original language of the Bible, it is written at a level that even the average person can understand, while maintaining academic depth.
If you've ever wondered what the book of Romans is all about and what it means for your life as a Christian, this book is for you.

Romans is a book that can be very controversial depending on its interpretation.
