Self-Directed Learning Coaching Manual
Description
Book Introduction
“The simplest study method anyone can follow.” Practical learning coaching to improve study skills in the online age. This book seeks appropriate solutions for parents and teachers struggling with their children's academic problems, and presents learning coaching methods that help children grow together. Many parents and teachers are working hard to cram things into their children's lives, but the more they do, the more children lose interest in studying and their will to study voluntarily weakens. The purpose of parents and teachers in teaching is to help children learn on their own, not to instill knowledge and experience. Therefore, the question we should be asking is, 'How can we maintain and strengthen our motivation to learn?' This book systematically organizes various cases and contents from the author's previously published books, and also adds new cases. It was organized around cases experienced in actual learning coaching settings to enhance the sense of realism. The best way to maintain and strengthen learning motivation is to 'read slowly and properly'. This book introduces the '3SR2E study method' and real-life examples, which can be said to be the most reliable, simple, and universal method for students to maintain interest and curiosity and enjoy studying. The author argues that parents and teachers should move beyond the perspective of "teaching a lot and teaching well" and instead focus on "strengthening motivation through appropriate feedback." He also argues for a universal and simple study method through effective coaching. |

Publisher's Review
“Children learn better when we teach less!”
“Introducing the 3SR2E study method and real-world examples!”
One of the biggest concerns for parents is their children's studies.
As the grade level increases, the problems become bigger.
Although parents try to teach children directly in elementary school, at some point the child starts to refuse to study with their parents, and when they advance to middle school, learning problems that were not apparent in elementary school begin to surface.
By the time they reach high school, there is already a divide between students who are good at studying and those who are not, and that gap is not only difficult to narrow, but also widens as time passes.
Eventually, some students give up on studying, and there is no clear solution in sight.
I am worried that my child might fall behind, so I push him again.
Education should not be about constantly stuffing things into children, but rather about bringing out the potential within them.
When a child learns to walk or talk, there are no parents who teach their child by rote or scold them for not being able to do it.
The parents gave positive feedback, including appropriate praise, encouragement, and empathy, and the child was able to complete the task properly without giving up.
That is, thanks to parental feedback, the child's motivation to learn is maintained or strengthened rather than diminished.
The same applies when children study.
If you go to a bookstore, you'll find many study method books, but the parents and teachers who apply them are using the spoon-feeding method, that is, the method of cramming in the students.
Even the absolute principles of study can have negative consequences if not applied in terms of maintaining and strengthening learning motivation.
Through my experience as a study coach, I have experienced that most students develop good study habits and improve their grades through this one method, the '3SR2E study method.'
It has been confirmed in the field that this is the simplest study method that can help top students rise to the top tier and middle and lower-tier students rise to the top tier.
We also received positive feedback from many learning coaches who said that this method was very effective.
This book argues that teaching children too many methods at once is tantamount to telling them to stay away from studying, and suggests only a few simple methods, avoiding complex study methods, so that parents and teachers can coach them effectively.
