Into the book
Many people tend to simply interpret 'UX' as 'user experience', but in reality, UX is 'progress' following the user experience design process.
A user's individual experience is simply their conscious, subjective view of the application or website you created.
While user feedback is sometimes important, UX designers need to be able to offer something better than that.
--- p.21
Unlike designers in other fields, UX designers should not be obsessed with ideas that are meaningful to them.
Coming up with creative ideas is important, but if they aren't meaningful to the user, they're no longer important.
This means you have to spend a lot of time looking into issues that are not important to you.
It might feel awkward at first.
But that's what makes UX so special and valuable.
--- p.38
Designers may think they have the authority to do user testing, but that's not always the case.
Users test the design.
If the user doesn't behave as intended or doesn't understand something, it's the designer's fault, not the user's.
If you get the answer you want by asking leading questions or giving hints that are generally difficult to understand, the test is a failure.
It should be considered that there is no information obtained from that test.
Therefore, if a user is taking a test or answering a question, you should remain silent and observe.
--- p.100
UX is a science.
Results matter.
However, to achieve good results, users must be motivated to act efficiently.
What this means is that some UX designs may be 'more correct' than others, regardless of whether people prefer one design over another.
And we can prove this.

Publisher's Review
The most efficient way to understand the world of UX,
A little bit every day, 〈5 Minutes of UX a Day〉
Apple founder Steve Jobs made UX Apple's top priority.
In this way, we were able to launch products that were designed with usability, brand experience, and service experience in mind, all of which are invisible to the eye.
Apple's design has created a loyal following of so-called "Apple fans" around the world by providing a consistent customer experience.
The field of design, once limited to marketing and branding, is now encompassing service design and planning centered around UX, and companies are competing to find capable UX experts.
UX designer is currently considered one of the most promising careers of the future. With growing interest in UX design, there's a book that delves into everything from the concept of UX to the related tasks.
It is called “5 Minutes a Day UX”.
The idea for this book began with an interesting project called "UX Attributes Course" that was published on author Joel Marsh's blog.
The author selected topics he considered the most essential in UX and posted them with humorous and easy-to-understand explanations, resulting in over a million views.
This book is based on that very content.
We don't use cliches like 'think like a designer' or 'UX mindset'.
It suggests what to actually do and how to think in the design field.
《5 Minutes of UX a Day》 explains 100 topics that make up UX in a simple and clear way that can be read in about 5 minutes.
It covers a wide range of topics, from basic knowledge to tips and stories from the field that are often overlooked in practice, aimed at busy office workers and students.
If you spend just 5 minutes a day reading, you'll soon become a semi-expert in UX.
There's no more effective UX guide for practitioners!
Armed with 100 lessons, this comprehensive guide provides essential tips for UX planning and design.
UX design is a process very similar to science.
Conduct research to understand your users, develop ideas to meet their needs, and implement them in real life to see if they work.
This book focuses more on content that is especially necessary for beginners.
So, I boldly excluded concepts that were somewhat difficult or required a lot of experience to learn.
This book covers frequently mentioned topics in UX practice through 100 carefully categorized lessons.
It may seem grandiose, but there's absolutely no need to be intimidated.
It carefully selects only the topics essential to practical work and explains them in a way that even readers with no background knowledge can understand. It also contains the exact words of experienced and capable seniors who have experience in UX planning and design in actual projects.
It's packed with everything you need to know to work in the UX industry, from the fundamentals of user behavior and psychology, user research, UX processes and systems, visual design principles, good wireframing, and tips for finding a job and managing your career.
Are you just entering the world of UX? Are you working in UX design but need a good mentor? If you're assigned a job that requires knowledge of UX, this book is a must-have.
This book will definitely provide you with a springboard to leap higher.
