Description
Book Introduction
David's confession from 3,000 years ago becomes your daily routine today.

The Psalms of David were written by one man 3,000 years ago, but they tell the story of all of us.
Through David's Psalms, which most honestly capture life's journey of joy and sorrow, victory and defeat, praise and lament, we too can begin a sincere conversation with God.

"Like David" is not a simple commentary on the Psalms; it is a guide to a journey that leads to a deeper encounter with God by following in David's footsteps.
From shepherd to king, musician to warrior, sinner to penitent, David's diverse life experiences will illuminate our own, and we will learn to never lose sight of God's praise, no matter the circumstances.

The most significant feature of this book is that it contains a journey of spiritual growth in five volumes.
It systematically guides readers' spiritual growth through the stages of "Knowing Me (Self-Discovery)", "Knowing God (Knowing God)", and "Knowing Community (Knowing Community)".
Especially from the perspective of a lay author, the Psalms focus on everyday application rather than an academic approach, making them easily relatable and applicable to everyone.

Into the book
"What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?" (Psalm 8:4)

Look up at the sky! The sun, moon, and stars greet us with their light.
Wind, rain and snow come to us.

Look at the ground! Everything is beneath our feet.
Trees, flowers, birds and fish greet us.
Each person lives in his own way, obeying God's providence and commandments.

Lord, you created all things because you love us, who are weak, and you place them under our feet, crowning us with glory and honor, calling us beautiful. What are we that you think of us and care for us so? We can only be grateful.
--- From “Volume 1: Psalm 8 - “What is Man?” (Discovering the Value of Humanity in Creation)”

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10)

We must be careful of all the times when David is not where he should be, when he procrastinates, when he puts his attention on the world and people before God.
Sin comes as a very sweet temptation.
And in that moment, it takes hold of our hearts.
The sinful nature is revived.
Even David, whom God praised, stumbled, so how much more so did we?
--- From "Book 2: Psalm 51 - "My sin is ever before me" (An example of true repentance)

Publisher's Review
From pain to praise, let David's Psalms become your daily routine.

Like David is not just a collection of meditations; it is a guide to a spiritual journey toward a deeper relationship with God.
This book has three important differences.

First, it is a collection of sincere meditations written from the perspective of a layperson.
The Psalms, viewed from the perspective of a layperson who longs for the Word, rather than a theologian or pastor, focus on everyday application rather than an academic approach, making them easily relatable and applicable to anyone.

Second, it is a practical meditation that has been proven in small groups.
This book, written based on the experience of sharing a psalm each day in a small group of women's missionaries at church and praying and applying it together, contains meditations and applications proven in real life, not just theory.

Third, it contains a step-by-step journey of spiritual growth.
The pattern of almost all the Psalms beginning with pain and groaning but always ending with praise shows that our lives, no matter how difficult, can ultimately lead to praise.
