Whispering Wines
Description
Book Introduction
'Wine is not just a drink in a glass.'
For author Lee Seon-min, wine was a special companion that moved his life and filled his heart.
From the moment she first encountered wine in a restaurant to the influence of her father, who has been in the restaurant business for over 40 years, wine has become deeply ingrained in her daily life.
At first, I started tasting a glass at a time out of curiosity, but at some point, wine went beyond just a simple 'taste' and became something that touched my heart and made me see the world in a new way.
Immediately after the COVID outbreak, I opened a wine shop as a manager and decided to “learn more”, so I started the WSET Level 1 course.
Afterwards, I studied intensively up to Level 3 in a short period of time and gained valuable experience in the field by tasting wines from various importers.
Working as a cabbie at a natural wine importer and 'Le Petit Marche' in Yongin, I encountered and learned more about wine, and experienced thousands of glasses of wine by attending tastings and seminars every holiday.
Those countless cups piled up on the tip of her tongue and in her heart, creating the author she is today.
Even after completing over twenty seminars and masterclasses, I still have a lot to learn.
Because there are more wines in the world than stars, it is a difficult, mysterious, and endless world.
Even the regret of not being able to taste everything ultimately becomes the charm of wine.
This book, Whispering Wine, was born at the end of that journey.
We aim to be a guide that can make wine more accessible and comfortable for those who find it difficult and unfamiliar.
Even though it's not perfect, I hope it can be a small source of courage and warmth in front of someone's first drink.
A record of pure passion and persistent exploration for wine, "Whispering Wine" will be a gift to those studying wine and a warm encouragement to those new to wine.

Into the book
While studying and writing about wine, this question always remained in the back of my mind.
“How dare I talk about wine to someone?” Wine is still difficult, and there is still much I don’t know.
I will probably continue to learn and learn more in the future.
But there is one thing I know for sure.
The truth is that wine is much more beautiful when you 'feel it with someone' than when you 'know it perfectly'.
It's okay if you open this book and don't study wine in depth.
If you ever feel like taking out a small glass, simply pour yourself a sip of the wine that catches your eye.
Just feeling the fragrance of you and that cup today is enough.
I hope that "Whispering Wine" will make that moment a little warmer.
May your cup always be filled with good memories.
