This is an educational critique that contains the author's awareness of the problems and insights he encountered in the educational field during his 38 years of teaching, living under the shining name of 'education.'
The author has consistently questioned the nature of what happens in the educational field, confronting non-educational practices packaged under the names of 'adaptation' and 'homogenization.'
This book is not simply a memoir.
It vividly shows the 'narrow path' faced by teachers who must simultaneously carry out their public duties as civil servants and their teaching activities with children in the classroom.
In particular, my four years of experience as a volunteer principal allowed me to observe the school organization from the different perspectives of a teacher and a principal, which led to a deeper understanding of the educational field.


Because education is an act with enormous ripple effects, no educational act should be treated with negligence.
In particular, laws and systems created in the name of education must be handled with extreme caution.
Laws and systems that are not based on school classrooms or school sites can surprisingly hinder and disrupt education.
What the author witnessed during his teaching career was the pressure from political and economic forces to instrumentalize education.
There are only a handful of educational policies that have lasted for more than a decade, and the grandiose slogans and systems have actually hindered communication between teachers and students and shaken the very essence of education.
It coldly points out how laws and systems that are not based on classroom practice distort education.


Nevertheless, the author does not give up hope.
It emphasizes that education must embrace but not follow social change, but rather become a force that leads to change.
