I will do something new
Description
Book Introduction
“Behold, I will do a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19)
I WILL DO A NEW THING

We are now living in a time like the "wilderness."
But God made a way in the dry wilderness,
You promised to create a "river."

Even in this seemingly bleak reality,
The promise that new possibilities will open up,
As life sprouts from unexpected places,
It is a promise that “new paths and rivers” will open in our lives as well.

God is already preparing “new paths and rivers” in our lives.

When you take one step further without giving up,
We are in the middle of the wilderness
You will encounter solid roads and gushing rivers.

What we need is the courage to walk that new path.
It is the faith that can discover the river.

Expect God to do something new in your life.
Let us commit our lives to God so that He can do something new.
I hope that “new paths and rivers” will appear to all who walk in the wilderness…
I pray that you will take steps of hope every day.

A New Year of Complete Entrustment to the Lord

Scripture to Read: Isaiah 43:14-21

Isaiah 43:18,19 Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

『When the new year begins, there are always words of the Lord that well up in my heart.
This year, the words, “But those who wait for the Lord (God) will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31) give us courage and hope.
I'd like to share a poem by American poet Ella Wheeler Wilcox, in which she pledges to "entrust myself completely to the Lord's guidance" instead of making New Year's resolutions.
“I have decided now.
To walk with the Lord throughout this year,
Leave all your worries in the arms of the Lord,
To shake off all doubts and fears.
The Lord guides our weary feet,
He will fill our hearts with joy and peace.
And he will give us the strength to endure.
Until our journey ends,
And until freedom and victory are achieved.
I pray that the Lord will guide our steps this year, bless us with success in all our ways, and that we will overcome all difficulties and live lives that reveal the glory of the Lord. - From “Pastor Kim Jang-hwan’s Life Notes”
Let us go forward with courage and strength, with the power, love, and self-control that the Lord has given us.
Blessed and prosperous.
amen!!!

Lord, may your grace, peace, and power be with me in every step.
Let us begin this year with prayer and anticipation that our lives will reveal more of the Lord's glory.

Prayer for True Happiness

Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:31-34

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

On the second day of the new year, I would like to share a poem titled "A Prayer for the New Year (Author Unknown)". It is a poem that prays not to seek worldly things, but to do only what pleases the Lord God.

“I pray to the Lord God for a happy new year,
Not for wealth, health, or fame,
Not even for the things the world considers blessings.
I only follow the Lord's will, the Lord's purpose, and the Lord's presence.
Wishing you a year full of blessings.
I am willing
A heart that wants to serve the Lord,
A soul ready to obey the Lord,
The thought of seeking the Lord's truth,
I pray for peace of mind in the grace of the Lord.
If I could have these things,
No matter what this year brings,
I knew it was going to be a truly happy year.”
If you wish for a happy new year… if you are prepared to follow and obey the Lord's guidance each day… as we enter the new year, instead of focusing on the worldly desires we often have, focus on your relationship with the Lord God and pray for true happiness.
Blessed and prosperous.
amen!!!

Lord, help me to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness and focus on my relationship with you.
Let us discern whether what we seek now is a worldly desire or something that pleases the Lord.

fellow Christians

Scripture to Read: 1 John 1:5-10

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

During the Bernadotte dynasty, when Sweden and Norway were one country, the fourth king, Oscar II, believed in Jesus during his reign.
One day, a huge crowd gathered at the port to see off Oscar II, who was going abroad to inspect state affairs.
A huge orchestra also arrived to support the king as he left for his country.
After the orchestra's conductor finished his performance, he knelt before Oscar II on behalf of the people and paid him the utmost respect.
Oscar II raised the conductor and asked:
“Do you love your country?”
"That is a matter of course, Your Majesty."
“So, are you a disciple of Christ?”
"you're right.
But I am the least of the Lord's disciples.
Upon hearing this, Oscar II embraced the conductor and said:
“Then from now on, don’t call me ‘Your Majesty.’
“We, the Lord’s disciples, are one and brothers in Christ.”
King Oscar II, who was famous for being a majestic king, met the Lord Jesus and lived a life of consideration for others. He left behind a will that included the words of 1 John 1:7.
Before God, there is no king, no subject, no good person.
We are all people who need to be saved through the Lord's merits.
Treat all believers as brothers and sisters and serve them humbly.
Blessed and prosperous.
amen!!!

Lord, please help us to regard all believers as brothers and sisters in You and serve them humbly.
Let's reflect on whether we are living as considerate people who think of others first.

The voice of God

Scripture to Read: Isaiah 40:1-11

Isaiah 40:9 O thou that bringest good tidings to Zion, get thee up into the high mountain; thou that bringest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

Pastor Albert Benjamin Simpson, founder of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, which was established for the purpose of world evangelization, said that Christians must live as evangelists who continue to proclaim God's voice in the world.
“The day of the Lord’s coming is drawing near.
Truly the kingdom of God is drawing near.
Because that glorious day is just around the corner
The gospel of the kingdom must be preached throughout the earth.
In just one day, hundreds of thousands of souls
They do not know the Lord, they turn away from Him, and they live in guilt and darkness.
Oh, Church of Christ! O saints!
The day when that terrible judgment day comes upon the world
When people who are not saved ask why the gospel was not preached
What would you say!
Because we do not know when God will come and who will be saved and receive eternal life, we must preach the gospel without ceasing.
Just as good medicine must be swallowed to be effective, the gospel of truth must be spread to the world to be effective.
Be the voice of God who tirelessly spreads the gospel of life to the world.
Blessed and prosperous.
amen!!!

Lord, help me live as an evangelist who continues to proclaim your gospel in the world.
Let's consider whether we are prioritizing the work of spreading the gospel of life.

With words

Scripture to Read: Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Deuteronomy 6:6 And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

There was a man who always carried a Bible with him.
This man always carried his Bible with him, not only on Sundays, when he went to church, but also when he went to work, when he met friends, and when he went on vacation.
And it wasn't just carried around, it was carried around so that everyone could see the Bible at a glance.
It was like I was walking around with a 't'.
One day, an old friend who had not been very pleased with this sight mustered up the courage to say the following:
“I am a Christian too, but I don’t carry around my Bible so obviously like you do.
"On a day like today, you're not supposed to meet me for Bible study. Why did you bring your Bible with you, as if you were trying to show it off to people? Is it because you want to show off your holiness?"
The man answered, taking out the Bible he had brought.
“I am actually more susceptible to sin than most people.
Even though I carry the Bible around, I still commit many sins.
But then I realized that carrying the Bible around like this was the way I could sin the least.
Carrying the Bible around with you will make you think about sin at least once more and give you the courage to overcome sin at least once more.
A Christian is a person who lives by gaining the strength to overcome the world through the word of God.
Always live your life holding on to the rudder of God's Word, which can guide you against the current of the world toward God's goal.
Blessed and prosperous.
amen!!!

Lord, help me to live by holding on to the key of your word that can lead me to the goal you have given me.
Let us gain the strength to overcome the world through the word of the Lord and live with that strength.
