Learning God's Heart
Learning God's Heart
Description
Book Introduction
The message of the 12 minor prophets is coming in the present tense!

The words of the minor prophets, which contain ‘God’s unwavering love and grace’
Awaken the numb spirituality and renew faith.

This book is a compilation of the 12 minor prophets in the Bible, providing an easy-to-understand explanation of God's heart.
Among the twelve minor prophets, there are some relatively familiar characters and stories.
These include Hosea, who married the adulterous woman Gomer; Jonah, who survived from the belly of a fish; Habakkuk, the protagonist of “Nevertheless,” and Malachi, who is often mentioned in teachings about tithing.
But apart from these stories, the Minor Prophets are often considered unfamiliar and difficult.

The author emphasizes that the words of the Twelve Minor Prophets are not confined to the past, but are still valid for us who live by faith today.
It contains the deep heart of God the Father, such as God who does not stop loving even in the midst of judgment, God who comforts and is always on my side, and God who waits with tears and ultimately restores.
When we understand God's heart, we can become like Him and live in an intimate relationship with Him, enjoying abundant grace.

This book covers the 12 minor prophets in three parts.
Part 1, ‘God who calls us to repentance’ (Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah), shows ‘the love that waits for us even in sin’, Part 2, ‘God who brings justice and restoration’ (Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk), calls for ‘the unity of life and worship’, and Part 3, ‘God who gives joy and a new spirit’ (Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi), shows ‘the promise of restoration that blossoms in despair’.

Drawing on the author's rich theological insight, this book interprets the messages of the Twelve Minor Prophets in everyday language. It is not simply a Bible commentary; it uses anecdotes and testimonies to guide readers in living out the Word of God in their lives.
It makes us realize anew the love of God that we had forgotten, and helps us live with faith even in despair.

Epilogue

Into the book
We are Gomer, not Hosea.
You must never forget that fact.
We were not people who were on the verge of becoming sinners or had a strong tendency to sin.
Instead, like Gomer, we were already sinners from the beginning.
Just as Gomer was called an “adulterous woman” from the beginning, we too were already called “sinners,” and like Gomer, we were already condemned, and thus, we were destined for destruction.
But God came to us, sinners, first and showed us unconditional love.

At that time, everything seemed to be going well in Northern Israel.
The country was prosperous and had an abundance of material goods.
Naturally, worldly success became the most important value in life, and spiritual neglect followed.
"Why do you keep saying that? What's wrong with us? What do you want me to do?" God speaks to them through Amos.
God's word was clear.
If the powerful oppress the weak unjustly, they will soon stand under God's tremendous wrath.
So what should we do? What does God expect from them? Even today, God seeks "worshipers whose worship and life are not separated."

In a word, the Edomites were too arrogant.
They thought they were perfect.
Like them, we all run the risk of falling into pride.
Pride makes us self-centered, which ultimately clouds our judgment and leads us to judge and interpret everything according to our own will.
That's what Edom did that day.
Therefore, when we approach the book of Obadiah, the message that we must first notice and be challenged by is this.
“You must never be arrogant.
If you are arrogant, you are finished.
“Pride leads to ruin.” If that is the case, there is only one thing we can do and do.
The mind of Christ Jesus is humble.
Your incarnation, your cross, is the sign of God's humility.

Have you failed? Have you disobeyed? Are you trapped in the dark belly of a fish, burdened with bitter memories? Even then, remember that God has not given up on us and is pursuing us to the very end.
Why did you say you were tracking? Yes, of course God is interested in saving lost souls, but He is equally interested in the lives of each and every one of us to whom He has entrusted this work.
Therefore, even if you are in the midst of a storm, even if you are in difficulties like being trapped in the belly of a large fish, I hope you will dream and pray for the grace of restoration through God's mercy and compassion.

I want to learn from Habakkuk how he responded correctly to the 'great silence of God.'
Have you ever had doubts on your path of faith? You protest to God, but he remains silent? How will you respond? Like many, will you seek out this person and that person, seeking help? "I'm in trouble.
It's unfair.
It's difficult for me.
Would you act with a grievance, saying, "That person is making things difficult for me?" At that moment, the believer, on the contrary, goes before God with faith.
Be patient, wait patiently, and go there on purpose.
That is the place of prayer.
And there, with his eyes wide open, he stands on the rampart, that is, in the watchman's position.
Then we listen and see what God will say, what He will do, and what He will teach us.

What was the problem with Israel in Malachi's time? They acknowledged God with their lips, but not in their lives.
So, I did not properly pay tithes and offerings.
Because they didn't really believe that their lives depended on God.
Instead, they believed their fate depended on the governor of Syria, on the wealth they had amassed in the secret corners of their homes, on what would be called today's bank funds, on the size of the businesses they had built over their lifetimes, and on the success of their well-raised children.
So I didn't tithe.
It is because they do not acknowledge God.
The act of wanting to use it according to God's will, the act of spirituality, is the tithe and offering.
