Mother Yeom I-hwan was born in 1930 (currently 95 years old).
He is a person who lived through the modern history of 20th century Korea, including the Japanese colonial period, the August 15 Liberation Day, and the Korean War.
Born as the third daughter of two sons and three daughters in a wealthy family in Hoengseong, Gangwon-do, she got married in April of that year, when the Korean War broke out.
While waiting for her husband, who had been drafted during the war, to return alive, one day, eight years later, she was introduced to her father (who had five children from his previous marriage), and thus, she had one son and two daughters: me as the first daughter, a son as the second, and Hee-sik as the youngest daughter.

Those days must have been truly arduous...
