Christian Youth Counseling Center
Description
Book Introduction
'Career path, college entrance exam stress, relationships, idols, alcohol and cigarettes, homosexuality, suicide...'
Having to live against the strong waves
40 Comforting and Encouraging Readings for Christian Youth
Pastor Lee Jeong-hyeon, who has brought encouragement, insight, and resonance to the Korean church with books such as 『Teacher Basics』, 『Sunday School Change』, 『Youth Sermon Change』, and 『5-Minute Proverbs Q&A for Youth』, has released a new book.
Pastor Lee Jeong-hyeon, a next-generation professional minister and church education expert, fielded questions from over 1,000 youth at Bundang Woori Church, Hallelujah Church, and Gunsan Dream Church.
Among their many concerns, I extracted common themes and compressed them into the 40 contained in this book.
The Christian Youth Counseling Center is divided into eight major parts.
‘When I want to know who I am’, ‘When I want to find my dream’, ‘When I want to ask about heaven, salvation, and death’, ‘When I am curious about love and relationships’, ‘When I want to ask if I can do this’, ‘When I want to open up about school life and relationships’, ‘When I believe in God but face worries and conflicts’, ‘When I want to know more about the Bible and the church’.
The questions that teenagers face in various situations are presented without reservation, from mild questions like “Do I have to go to church during exam period?”, “Do I have to pray during school lunch?”, to spicy questions like “If I commit suicide, will I really go to hell?”, “I have a friend who is attracted to the same sex. Is homosexuality really a sin?”, “I sometimes watch porn. Is watching porn a sin?”
The author warmly sits with young people as they express their concerns about career paths, college entrance exam stress, relationships, idols, alcohol and cigarettes, homosexuality, suicide, and other issues. He asks them directly and reflects on the same question: "What would God say? What does the Bible say?"
The answers to the concerns and questions of Christian youth were found solely within the Bible, from the perspective of sound faith.
This book is a must-read for young readers struggling to survive as Christian youth against the strong currents, as well as for parents who struggle with the worries and struggles of raising them, Sunday school teachers who want to connect more closely with youth, and next-generation ministers.

Into the book
Sin means to deviate from or deviate from the standards established by God.
It is not a sin when we act differently from the standards set by man, but when we deviate from the standards set by God.
Not living according to God's will and going against His will is sin.
Sin needs to be viewed from God's perspective, not from man's perspective.
--- p.19, 「Part 1.
From "When I Want to Know Who I Am"
Adolescence is a time when you don't know exactly what life will be like.
There is no young person in the world who can know how the wide road of life will unfold.
So, what I need now is to entrust my life to God.
God wants His children to prosper.
God is the one who blesses children.
So we need to practice entrusting our life's path to God.
God sees even my failures, and He can use them.
So, we need to practice praying and entrusting our life's path completely to God.
--- p.46, 「Part 2.
From "When I Want to Find My Dream"
There are probably many friends around you who are having a hard time for various reasons.
First, I would like to help them understand their feelings and avoid harboring negative thoughts.
And I would also like to tell my friend that suicide is not the solution to his suffering.
I hope you remember that the one and only life God gave us is the most precious thing in the world and cannot be exchanged for anything else.
--- p.61, 「Part 3.
From "When You Want to Ask About Heaven, Salvation, and Death"
God tells us to live as salt and light in the world.
In other words, he said to live differently from the people of the world.
If that's the case, then your perspective on the opposite sex must be different, and the process of preparing for dating must also be different.
Lastly, the way you date should also be different.
Even through the process of dating the opposite sex, I must be able to give glory only to God.
God would want this too.
--- p.83, 「Part 4.
From "When You're Curious About Love and Romance"
Everything in our lives depends on God! God loves us and blesses our future.
All we need is absolute faith in God.
There is absolutely nothing to worry about, even if you don't have your fortune told or your four pillars of destiny checked.
Because if you just have faith in God, God's good guidance will follow.
--- p.121, 「Part 5.
When you want to ask if you can do this too"
Praying before eating a meal is, “Today, too, I was provided with food by God’s grace.
It is a kind of confession of faith that says, “God gave me this food because he loves me.”
Confession of faith is not only done during worship services.
We need it in our daily lives.
Don't forget that the brief prayer during mealtime is also a time to confess your faith in the God you believe in.
--- p.141, 「Part 6.
From "When you want to talk about school life and relationships"
The human mind is always meant to be filled with something.
There are people whose hearts are filled with God, and there are people whose hearts are filled with the worries and concerns of the world.
When your heart is filled with God, worries and concerns naturally disappear.
It is not a sin when we act differently from the standards set by man, but when we deviate from the standards set by God.
