Book Introduction
No one taught me how to be a parent.
There were no textbooks or manuals.
I just followed along, observing what other parents were doing, holding on with the mindset that “my child shouldn’t suffer,” and forcing myself to meet the standards of a “good parent.”
But suddenly, this question occurred to me.
“Do I truly trust my child?” “Is what I want my child to be happy, or is it just a result to alleviate my anxiety?” This book began with such questions.
At home, at school, and in society, I looked back on how many roles I was asked to play as a parent, and how my real self and my real child lived within those roles.
This book doesn't give you the answers.
I just wanted to say to anyone who is lost like me, “You are not alone.”
I hope this book will quietly reach out to all parents who want to grow with their children even in the midst of chaos.
