First Steps Children's Bible: Old Testament
First Steps Children's Bible: Old Testament
Description
Book Introduction
“My beloved book, though torn, sits on my mother’s lap~” (from Hymn 199, “My Beloved Book”)

This hymn, which we have sung together in church school since we were young, always flows in our hearts.
Even now, our children prick up their ears and come closer when their mom, dad, grandparents, or grandparents read to them.
It's great to read a variety of books to our children, but nothing is as good as reading the Bible, the Word of God.
Although this book is not the Bible, we prepared the "First Steps Children's Bible" with the hope that it will help children become familiar with the stories of the Bible from a young age and help them read and understand the Bible on their own in the future.
Now it's your turn to take this book and read it to your children and grandchildren.

Publisher's Review
『First Steps Children's Bible』- Old Testament is a story that explains the Bible and corresponds to the Old Testament of the Bible.
Each Bible story unfolding over the course of history reveals God's covenant and Jesus Christ, the gift He gave us.
The artistic watercolor illustrations included in each Bible story bring the scenes to life and help children understand them.
Another unique feature of this book is that it was reviewed by a Korean literature scholar to enhance the quality of the translation.
This book contains simple questions at the end of each story.
Create a special time of conversation with your children by asking and answering questions! Sharing God's love with them will be an invaluable moment beyond compare.
I hope that through this book, our children will become closer to God's word.

When we were children, our parents read this book in Dutch at every meal.
And you summarized the content with a question at the end. I remember one day when you asked, “What food did God give the Israelites when they came out of Egypt?” and my four-year-old brother confidently answered, “Jjajangmyeon!”
The illustrations and content of this book, which we read together as children, are deeply engraved in our hearts.
So, even if I went astray in life after that, it became a fence that brought me back to the Lord.
We wanted our children to live within the same framework, so our four children translated this book together, and our mother willingly took on the task of reviewing it.
- From the translator's note

I have also benefited greatly from reading this book to my children.
Because I realized that the words of the Old and New Testaments always point to Jesus Christ.
I pray that the same grace will be with all who use this book.
A children's Bible is not the Bible itself, but rather helps children grow up to read and understand the Bible on their own.
It would be of great benefit if parents would put in the effort to serve as that stepping stone.
