Into the book
“We, who read the Word in order, are the intellectuals of this age.
The most cultured, refined and beautiful.
“A person who can speak in order is good at counseling and is good at everything.”
--- p.28

“To be governed by the kingdom of God, we must listen carefully to the commandments of promise in the Bible.
And after hearing it, you have to wait well.
Promises always involve waiting.
Even if the wait is long, God will surely keep His promise because He is my Father.”
--- p.51

“There comes a time when the flesh will be hidden by clouds.
But for those who believe in the ascended Jesus, physical death is not the end.
… … It’s just living in a branch of Heaven and then going to the main store.
It is a change from human time to God's time.
Therefore, there is no need to fear death.”
--- p.82

“A prayer that aligns the Word of God with your own desires is a prayer that is 100% answered.”
--- p.100

“It is not love that is always there.
Seeing from the Lord's perspective is true love.
So sometimes you have to be ruthless and clean up after someone.”
--- p.125

“When blocked relationships are opened and scattered relationships become one, when I do not complain or become discouraged even in the midst of hardship, the world will see God’s great work when it sees me like that.
Therefore, loving and forgiving one’s enemies is the true fulfillment of the Holy Spirit.”
--- p.170

“We can write the Acts of the Apostles every day by cherishing one person.
On the other hand, if you are stuck with one person, all your past efforts may be in vain.
The ministry will also be in vain.
God gives children prophesy, young people visions, and old people dreams, saying that he will save one person.”
--- p.200~201

“Acknowledging that life is finite is faith.
Those who believe in the end of the individual will naturally become omnipotent.
“I live a life where I can only give in the Lord, empathizing with the pain of the flesh and sharing the words of enlightenment.”
--- p.288

“The best thing is to live as things are.
I hope you live according to the original plan that God gave you.
True power is in my dying.
That is the power of the Holy Spirit.”
--- p.382

“The only way to truly help others is to not be indebted to them yourself.
I have to live well first.
“If you follow the Word, eat, if you don’t, fast, and if you die, go to heaven. This is the best secret to saving yourself and others.”
--- p.456

Publisher's Review
Why is it called 'Acts of the Apostles' and not 'Acts of the Holy Spirit'?

The book of Acts, which we are all familiar with, begins like this.
Before ascending to heaven, the resurrected Jesus gave commands to the chosen apostles through the Holy Spirit, and after ascending to heaven, he gave them the Holy Spirit as he had promised.
The apostles, who received the baptism and fullness of the Holy Spirit, established the Church, a community of the Holy Spirit, on this earth, and, empowered by the Holy Spirit, became witnesses of the Holy Spirit and boldly preached the gospel.
So, one question can be asked here.
“It is filled with the work of the Holy Spirit, so why is it called ‘Acts of the Apostles’ and not ‘Acts of the Holy Spirit’?” Pastor Yangjae Kim, the author, says, “It is because God always focuses on the apostle who will receive the Holy Spirit, that is, ‘one person.’”
This is also evident in the Book of Acts.
The full-scale Acts begins when the number of apostles is filled by selecting Matthias, the 'one person' to replace Judas Iscariot.
Why is that? Because 'one person' matters.
One person filled with the Holy Spirit can change the world.
Even those who have no strength to rise can stand tall as witnesses of the gospel that the world cannot bear if they receive the Holy Spirit.
The theme of the Acts of the Apostles is also, “How does each of us change when we receive the Holy Spirit?”

More than anyone else, Pastor Kim Yang-jae, the author, is 'that one person' empowered by the Holy Spirit.
For Pastor Kim Yang-jae, the sermon on the Acts of the Apostles is special.
Not long after I began studying the Book of Acts, a great calamity called 'cancer' struck me.
However, Pastor Kim Yang-jae regarded cancer as a power of salvation and proclaimed that the great and glorious day of the Lord would come through his suffering.
And as he prayed, Pastor Kim Yang-jae's suffering became the power of salvation that only Jesus Christ could preach.
This book contains the author's detailed account of how he overcame the high mountain of cancer by interpreting it through words.
Even if he had cancer, went bankrupt, was ruined, and was abandoned by the world, he was the main character of the Acts of the Apostles, a person who received the Holy Spirit and interpreted his life through the Word.
I hope that through 『The Gift of the Holy Spirit』, readers will become one of those who write their own Acts of the Apostles.
