Into the book
My purpose in teaching fortune telling is one thing.
It is about mastering one meditation method perfectly and learning how to apply the method in practice.
To achieve this goal, I will continue to repeat the method so that readers can master it.
--- p.23
Why did I fall in love with fortune telling? First, fortune telling deals only with the lives of living humans.
Boldly cast aside myths and imaginary ways of thinking.
This is why fortune telling can become a philosophy.
Mythology, imagination, and the afterlife are not dealt with by fortune telling.
Every living, breathing human being is the object of fortune telling.
It reflects the practical way of thinking unique to the Chinese.
--- p.34
The greatest appeal of fortune telling is that the subject of the study is me, living in a shabby and insignificant reality.
It's not about being a great politician, a successful businessman, or a cool celebrity.
Has there ever been a discipline, a philosophy, that deals with me? The term "I" appears frequently in philosophy, but that "I" is a conceptual self.
But in the world of fortune telling, I am the real me.
I have a four pillars of destiny.
--- p.35
The third reason I fell in love with fortune telling is that all of its conclusions have a basis.
A counselor who only gives conclusions without any basis is either a fraud or a person who is not well-educated.
If you go to a fortune teller's office to have your fortune told, you must ask.
“What is your basis?” Asking detailed questions is an attitude that a client should not have.
However, it is necessary to ask for the basis for the logical conclusions drawn and to carefully consider the basis for those conclusions.
Only then can you be confident in the direction suggested by the fortune teller.
--- p.38
Fortune-telling also reveals your shortcomings.
Some people may wonder what use it is to know your shortcomings, but if you know your shortcomings, you can forgive yourself.
I thought I was just really bad at making the same mistakes over and over again, but that wasn't the case.
The side effects were revealed because a certain energy was too abundant in the four pillars.
If you study fortune telling, you can embrace and love yourself, thinking that it was because you had a lot of this kind of energy in your four pillars.
--- p.42
Fortune telling is a mirror that allows us to reflect on ourselves and a valuable tool that helps us understand others.
This tool allows us to have truly meaningful conversations.
You can have genuine communication and also have valuable opportunities for healing and counseling.
Fortune-telling is not a magic wand or superstition that predicts the future, but a counseling tool that comforts the weary minds of modern people and enables deep conversation and reflection.
--- p.45~46
This is why Sajoo can be the best study and value system.
The four pillars of destiny are based on the movement of the Earth, an unchangeable regularity that no one can change.
It is the only discipline that reveals the impact of the Earth's movement on humans and is a discipline that works together with the Earth's ecosystem.
--- p.50
What does the word 'myeongri' itself mean?
It deals with principles, that is, reason.
Fortune-telling is the study of inferring various things through the principles of origin.
It is an interpretation that applies numerous cases to the principle.
Myeongri can be said to be a deductive way of thinking.
--- p.59
The premise of fortune telling is that a person's essence is determined at the moment of birth.
In other words, although the acquired environment may influence the details of the situation, the essence does not change.
Its essence is determined by the date and time of birth.
From a horoscope perspective, a person's essence is determined solely at the moment of birth.
--- p.63
The second premise is that time is segmented, that each segment of time has meaning, and that the meaning of that segment becomes the reference value for the birth of an organism and influences the organism.
Being segmented by time means being cut off.
Time seems to just flow on and on, and some say it flows like a river, but in fortune telling, time is segmented, and each segmented piece has its own unique and specific meaning.
--- p.64
If we give importance to climate, we fall into the following self-contradiction:
In the same November, since it is cold in Korea, children born in Korea are born with a lot of water energy, and since it is hot in Qatar, children born in Qatar are born with a lot of fire energy.
Climate is a difficult concept to quantify and categorize.
That's why the altitude of the sun is used as a standard in the four pillars of destiny.
--- p.76
The solar terms are a concept that artificially divides the solar altitude into 24 precisely defined periods.
Because the Earth's orbit has been artificially and mathematically split, the dates corresponding to each solar term change by a day or two each year.
The anniversaries that people usually celebrate have nothing to do with the operation of the Earth.
It's just that we give meaning to the date itself and hold events like Christmas and New Year's on the same day every year.
--- p.79
It is not the visible phenomena of nature, seasons, etc., but the relationship between the sun and the earth that ultimately determines human destiny.
If the sun is low and there is a lot of yin energy, you become a sunken person, and if the sun is high and there is a lot of yang energy, you become a bouncy person.
It is not the seasons or natural phenomena that determine these variables, such as more yin or more yang, but the relationship between the sun and the earth.
--- p.81
Astrology and fortune telling have different roots and have developed completely differently.
The Book of Changes, the subject of study in the field of mechanics, refers to the divination book of King Wen of the Zhou Dynasty.
It has been studied to this day since it was created during the Zhou Dynasty.
--- p.88
Some of you may ask, “Since it is a metaphor anyway, why can it be a natural object but not an animal?”
Taking the continent as an example, a representative natural object, the nature and characteristics of the continent can be defined in advance.
Also, most people think of similar images when they think of continents.
But what about chicken?
--- p.98
Fortune telling is not fortune telling.
Fortune-telling refers to a methodology for interpreting human energy.
Fortune telling and fortune telling are quite distant, and you can understand that tarot is next to fortune telling.
--- p.107
『Tojeong Bigyeol』 is nothing more than a modern fortune teller deifying Mr. Lee Ji-ham and saying, “This book is a secret book written by Mr. Lee Ji-ham of Tojeong.”
It can be seen as a pseudo-fortune-telling book that was created by haphazardly combining the fortune-telling theories that were popular at the time.
--- p.110
The good or bad luck of the four pillars of destiny is not determined by whether or not the five elements are present, but by the balance of power between the five elements that exist in the four pillars of destiny.
It's not idealism, it's realism.
A good fortune is not one that has all five elements, but one that has three energies and those energies must be balanced.
The balance of the four pillars (realism), not the balance of the five elements (idealism), determines good or bad luck.
--- p.125
The most common piece of advice I give is to change the lighting in your home to LED.
It's so weird.
I went to have my fortune told and they told me to change the lighting.
This is what is said to someone whose fortune is lacking in yang energy.
It's better for these people not to be in dark places.
It's advice to start by brightening up your surroundings.
People often tell me to open my closet.
What colors are common? Most people with a lack of yang energy say, "There are a lot of dull colors."
--- p.143
The important thing is that yin and yang are not just about division and opposition, but also about harmony.
This principle is the core of the theory of yin and yang.
Yin and Yang may seem fixed, but as you can see from the picture of the Taegeuk, Yin and Yang are in opposition and harmony with each other.
Yin means emptying out energy, but the empty energy builds up and eventually returns to yang.
--- p.161
In the Tao Te Ching, the harmony of yin and yang is called the mutual existence of existence and non-existence.
It's not like one lives by killing the other.
Philosophically, yin and yang and existence and non-existence are not in a relationship of precedence, left and right, or up and down.
They are one body, and they exist together through the action of leading and opposing each other.
--- p.162
When I first learned about fortune telling, I heard that cigarettes are a product of the Five Elements.
I was curious so I asked why.
To smoke a cigarette, you have to light it and inhale the smoke, so it's called fire.
Now that we know that anger is related to bitterness, we believe that cigarettes have an anger-inducing effect because of the bitter taste of the nicotine in cigarettes.
--- p.178
Alcohol initially has a stimulating effect.
It makes me feel better.
The body and mind are uplifted by the healing action of the bitter taste.
I'm excited.
But what lasts a long time after is emptiness, depression, and depression.
My mood is sinking and I feel empty and regretful.
This emotion is typically a five-element emotion.
If you ask me how I would define alcohol from the perspective of the Five Elements, I would say that the Five Elements, Fire and Water, work together, but ultimately, it is Water.
--- p.179
People who sleep during the day are not in better health.
It is said that it is difficult to explain scientifically why this is so.
Because I sleep for the same 8 hours, day or night.
But from a fortune-telling perspective, it's too easy to understand.
Night is the time of water, so doing activities that match water is a way to fulfill water energy.
Sleeping at night allows our bodies to rest properly and regain their composure.
--- p.192
The weapon called fortune telling shines when it suggests a long-term and macroscopic direction for life.
“Can I become rich?”, “I applied for this job, will I get hired?”, but what I want to hear more than these are questions like, “What attitude should I have in life?”, “What attitude should I have in my work life?”
Because fortune telling is optimized for these kinds of questions.
--- p.198
The major premise of the direction in which humans should advance is the forward direction of life.
Because that is the rule of the Earth's operation and the principle of nature.
The throat becomes angry and the anger becomes vomit.
The life of the five elements, Wood, can be said to be the voice of the universe, which goes from Fire to Earth.
--- p.218~219
Life cycles in the way of life, and poles connect with poles in the way of poles.
The connection of the poles may not seem like a natural connection, but it can be seen as a force that works within the cycle of life to enable life to circulate well.
Although it is not visible on the outside, it is a way to ensure that life circulates well by constantly creating conflicts and confrontations between energies within the cycle of life, thereby consuming and destroying energy.
--- p.234
When you're in a relationship, you give and receive everything without holding back, so you mistake it for a lifelong relationship.
The reason why people fight so fiercely the moment they get married is because they expect their partner to do everything for them like their parents.
But if you understand the relationship between your spouse and yourself as a polar relationship, you can keep an appropriate distance from each other.
--- p.237
The change from summer to fall is very important.
From a life perspective, it is a turning point where yang turns into yin.
The coming of autumn can be explained as a natural phenomenon, but it becomes difficult to explain when we introduce the perspective of speculation.
Summer is the season of fire, so it seems strange and illogical that summer is suddenly associated with cold gold (metal, iron).
--- p.239
People with many extremes are born with a lot of power for change and volatility.
How should this person live? He must fully utilize his innate power of change and volatility.
For those with many extremes, it's best to first figure out how to unleash this power of change into their lives.
It is about mastering one meditation method perfectly and learning how to apply the method in practice.
To achieve this goal, I will continue to repeat the method so that readers can master it.

Publisher's Review
My problem now
Tools to solve
Hyunmyo worked as a teacher for over 10 years.
While exploring what true happiness is, I encountered the Tao Te Ching and then fate.
After realizing that the system and theory of Saju Myeongri contained specific methods to improve one's life, I devoted myself to studying Myeongri.
Afterwards, he changed his life path to become a fortune teller, and is currently training fortune tellers by opening a course called “Hyeonmyo’s Four Pillars of Destiny.”
The biggest reason why Hyunmyo fell in love with Myeongri is because Myeongri is based on reality.
It was not a listless study that only looked down from the sky.
Myungri helped me understand myself and others, and gave me insight and methods to solve many problems that arise in reality.
Fortune-telling is a humanistic and practical 'tool'.
Fortune-telling focuses on utilizing principles rather than on the principles themselves.
It covers how to apply it.
For this reason, fortune telling can be a great tool for improving one's life in concrete ways.
The deeper my studies become, the more useful they become in my own reality and the more I can give practical advice to others.
Because fortune telling is a discipline of principles and practical study optimized for solving various problems in our lives, the more I learn, the more helpful it becomes in my life.
The only study that can encompass philosophical insight, practical application, and even economic utility is fortune telling.
-Page 38
Philosophy and science
Of course, fortune telling is still subject to many doubts and misunderstandings, such as being an outdated theory, a superstition, fortune telling, statistics, and having no scientific basis.
In this book, the author provides various evidence to dispel these doubts and correct misunderstandings.
We must remember that ‘basis’ is the key to fortune telling.
In summary, what is fortune telling? It's a philosophy. It's not a myth, it's reason. It's a logical way of thinking. All fortune telling judgments have clear grounds.
(…) Fengli is both a philosophy and a science.
It's not that we exclaim, "Four Pillars of Destiny is science!" because the astrological conclusions are so accurate.
Because the process of reaching conclusions is logical and based on evidence, and because it has developed through repeated counterarguments, the way of thinking based on Myeongri can be said to be scientific.
-Pages 38 and 39
Based on this perspective, acquired after long study, the author cautiously asserts that fortune-telling is an academic discipline.
Although there are still gaps in the logic of fortune telling, it has developed over time in the face of numerous criticisms.
The author continues to “re-establish the science of fortune telling, which has been confined to the realm of darkness and superstition, as a tool of insight and counsel.”
The purpose is to train fortune tellers
As part of that practice, we are training fortune tellers.
The reason I started this series, which may last as long as 10 volumes, is because I hope that all the readers and students of my books will become fortune tellers.
The key to fortune telling is not to blindly follow principles, but to apply them to reality based on principles.
That is why I emphasize that you must become a technician.
Fortune telling is not statistics.
It is not a statistical methodology, that is, it is not a discipline that gathers a lot of data and infers principles.
Fengli is the science of principles.
Myeongri is a methodology and framework of perception that applies the principle of mutual generation and mutual inhibition of yin and yang and the five elements to all human lives.
If you know the principle, you can apply it to a thousand or ten thousand things.
When will I be able to make a lot of money, when will my family be at peace, when is a good time to get married, who is right for me, what job is right for me, when is a good time to try something new, when is a good time to quit, etc., it can be applied to all cases.

To be more specific, training as a technician means helping someone interpret their own fortune or give advice using the same method as Hyeonmyo himself.
The purpose of writing this book is to help you master a single meditation method and learn how to apply it in practice.
To do so, the following attitude is required:
A fortune teller is not a psychic.
A fortune teller is an interpreter.
I'm a scholar.
These are people who need the ability to analyze.
A fortune teller needs rational judgment, analytical skills, consistency and systematicity, and training and experience in interpreting fortunes.
A fortune teller studies and interprets the signs of one's fate with the attitude of a detective and critic.
Do I have to pray a lot to get a good fortune telling? No.
We must constantly think about it and research it.

In this way, the 『Hyunmyo's Sajoo Lectures』 series is a book that guides and trains you to become a Sajoo consultant.
In this first book, we will explain what fortune telling is, what the basic system of fortune telling is, the five elements of yin and yang, and what the heavenly stems are derived from the five elements of yin and yang.
Misunderstandings and questions about the Four Pillars of Destiny, such as, will life be the same if the Four Pillars of Destiny are the same? Is the Four Pillars of Destiny just statistics? Will the Four Pillars of Destiny change if the climate changes due to global warming? What is the difference between fortune telling and divination? What is the difference between fortune telling and divination? What is the difference between MBTI and the Four Pillars of Destiny?
Artificial intelligence can also do fortune telling
Can you solve it?
This book is based on lectures, so it's a smooth read.
It is easier to understand with diagrams and pictures.
At the end of each lecture, we have compiled a "Problem Solving" section that allows students to ask questions and review what they have learned.
Students' questions are sharp and novel.
Can artificial intelligence interpret one's fortune? Is it okay to choose a career related to an energy that is not in one's fortune? How should people born on the border between time and time decide their time? What are some coping strategies if one cannot change one's fortune? How can one improve irregular sleep patterns? Can health problems be solved with fortune telling? What kind of mindset should one have if one has many extremes?
The mere fact that it can answer these realistic questions proves the practicality of fortune telling.
