Book Introduction
Even though it's a class I teach every day, I always worry about what to teach and what activities the students will enjoy.
Even though I prepared diligently for class, when I see students doing something else, I get anxious and think, "Is class boring?"
When I first started teaching English, I had students who had received early English education and sat there with bored expressions as if they already knew everything, students who found English difficult and even listlessly sat there doodling, and rebellious students who were entering puberty. Because of this, 40 minutes felt like an eternity and the class became burdensome and even scary.
However, I researched various resources on classroom English, memorized useful expressions, researched various teaching methods, and spent a year talking with native English-speaking teachers about how best to teach their students.
We also thought about classroom management methods, developed strategies, prepared various materials, and found ways to keep students happy and focused in class.
We utilize edutech effectively in our classes, and we have also prepared English class rules, an English dictionary, English picture books, level-based worksheets for students to work independently, and student records for each group.
Through this, we can now create classes that students who struggle with English can enjoy, classes that instill confidence in students and encourage them to be proactive and not be afraid of making mistakes, classes that utilize artistic works to create an emotional flow, and classes where students cooperate with each other, where those who are more skilled help those in need, and where they learn through mutual respect and encouragement.
We present in detail the various teaching methods and materials used to create such enjoyable English classes.
