Volume 1: "The Great Beginning": Taste God's Love in Creation and the Covenant! /Genesis/

《Gospel Project》 Old Testament 1_Great Beginning is the first book where you can discover God's plan of salvation contained in Genesis.
It vividly conveys the fragility of humankind that collapses due to sin after the world was created by words.
God's plan of salvation, which unfolds endlessly to save sinners, is captivating.

We meet God, who faithfully keeps his covenant to bless Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Joseph, and subsequent generations.

Textbook composition

* Goals and Overview (Into the Text, Story Bible, Countdown, Unit Memorization Song)
Contains information that you need to prepare in advance before worship.
We invite you to a prepared worship service by presenting content for meditation and teaching points through ‘Into the Text’ and ‘Story Bible.’
We also introduce a countdown video that can be used as a way to distinguish between worship times, and include sheet music for recitation songs that can be used during sermons for each unit, so that teachers can learn the songs in advance.

* Gospel Preparation (Welcome to Single Bingle, Open Your Hearts with Me)
It's time to guide children on how to welcome them and open their hearts through simple games related to the subject matter.

* Gospel Sermon (Introduction, Bible Story, Message and Summary, Biblical Focus, Gospel Invitation, Prayer, Memory Song)
This is a sermon guide that starts with Introduction, Bible Story, Message and Summary, Focus of the Bible, Gospel Invitation, Prayer, and Hymn Memory.
Provides sermon introduction ideas and provides videos for sermons and application.
For each lesson, a "timeline" is provided to help students understand the lesson's position within the larger flow of the Gospel Project, and the central themes (core doctrines) of the Bible related to the text are organized in a question-and-answer format, allowing students to easily learn the core doctrines.
Additionally, it includes a time of invitation to share and receive the gospel every week, and hymns, sheet music, and dances based on each unit's theme can be found in the leader pack and on the Gospel Project website (gospelprogect.co.kr).

* Gospel Small Group (Sweet Word Play, Whispering Snacks, Ending with Pentecost, My Own Record Book)
We have included various activities to help you review what you have learned through small group meetings after the service.
In 'Alkongdalgong Word Play', we introduce various activities that allow you to have fun while reviewing what you have learned from Bible stories.
In 'Whispering Snacks', we introduce snacks suitable for each subject and effective snack teaching methods, and in 'Wrap-Up in the Pentecost', we distribute message cards (cards containing the key content of each subject and activities to do with the family), organize the materials from the children's activities into a file, and guide them through the process of concluding with a prayer.
The last activity of 'My Own Record' is an activity that allows me to reflect on myself by organizing one subject.

* Appendix (columns and teaching materials)
'Why do toddlers need a variety of learning tools?', 'Why do we need to memorize toddlers' names?', etc.
We provide short columns that can answer many of your theological and faith-based questions about raising children.
It contains memorization passages for each unit and activity materials needed for each lesson, and you can use these to enrich small group activities.

Supervisor

Above all, The Gospel Project faithfully interprets the Bible according to the traditional church teachings.
And that direction is ultimately towards Jesus Christ.
This makes perfect sense in light of Jesus' statement that all Scripture, both Old and New Testament, points to him.
Moreover, it does not force a Christocentric interpretation.
In each text, God's covenant of salvation and God who fulfills it are revealed, and events that can be explained as a type of Christ are not missed.
Bible study materials must present doctrinal statements that are either explicitly or implicitly sound in their doctrinal structure.
The Gospel Project presents 99 core doctrines in a clear and concise manner, helping you to verify their soundness.
The doctrines of The Gospel Project are welcomed by evangelical churches, regardless of denomination, who are faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Of course, there may be some differences of opinion among denominations, but each church will have no difficulty utilizing the textbook.
The Gospel Project's hallmark is that it connects what you learn in each lesson to core doctrines, thereby strengthening your doctrinal understanding of the gospel of Christ.

Kim Byeong-hun, Professor of Systematic Theology, Union Theological Seminary

First, The Gospel Project is organized according to the overall flow and context of the Bible, helping you see the big picture of the Bible.
Additionally, it provides a thorough introduction to the exegetical views of expert biblical theologians in each field to help readers deeply understand the meaning of each passage of the Bible.
Second, by appropriately introducing relevant key doctrines along with the study of the text, we can connect the Bible and doctrine.
We can also understand the gospel through the Old Testament texts by finding and presenting connections with Christ in every passage.
Upon completing the entire Bible study course, believers will have a solid faith in the gospel.
Third, by focusing the application of Bible study on missions, we help believers fulfill their mission as witnesses of the gospel in their daily lives.
Finally, because the Bible is structured so that everyone, from Sunday school to adulthood, studies the same topics and texts, all church members will experience spiritual revival as they mature and become a community of faith within the same Word.

Lee Hee-seong, Professor of Old Testament Studies at Chongshin University

The composition of these teaching materials takes into account the developmental characteristics of young children, and they have the unique characteristic of allowing even teachers who are not familiar with the Bible to understand the Bible stories without distortion and effectively share them with children.
This is a feature that sets The Gospel Project apart from other Bible study materials, and it shows that it is a good Bible study material.
The Gospel Project covers the Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi, divided into sections such as “The Great Beginning,” “God’s Plan of Salvation,” “The Promised Land,” “The Establishment of the Kingdom,” “Prophets and Kings,” and “God’s People Return.”
While most preschool Bible study materials focus on Old Testament events through storytelling, The Gospel Project teaches the Bible's core doctrines through a narrative structure that is developmentally appropriate for young children.
One of the strengths of The Gospel Project is that it breaks away from the idea that doctrine is difficult for young children and structures its content with their spirituality in mind.
