Publisher's Review
About writing
Since the most important thing in writing Gungche is the sincerity of the writer, if you want to study our calligraphy, you must first establish your mindset.
Studying the basic strokes is more important than anything else.
It could be compared to the work of a carpenter trimming lumber to make furniture.
Just as when wood is precisely cut, the resulting object becomes beautiful, and when it is rough, the object becomes crude, so in writing, the strokes must be good for the writing to stand out.
The first step in studying strokes is that, first, the stroke technique must be accurate, second, the direction of the stroke must be correct, and third, the shape of the stroke must be beautiful.
Even if you have all three of these, if you don't have refinement, you won't be able to bring out the characteristics of each dot or stroke, so you need to practice a lot to become refined.
Calligraphy should be studied with the arm as the main focus rather than the eyes.
Only when the movement of the arm is free can the brush be handled freely, and the strokes written in that state are natural.
Therefore, you must practice each and every stroke diligently.
Once you have practiced enough strokes, next practice large letters one by one.
If you can write each letter well, combine the six letters and write them by folding the paper into six sections.
This is to make the letters even.
Things that work well when writing one character at a time don't go together well when writing multiple characters together.
You have to use it a lot until it suits you.
After practicing eight letters like this, you will be able to write the next ones without difficulty.
