Parents themselves took up the pens of "The Mission of God's People," a book that provides a broad understanding of holistic missions based on solid biblical theology, and that they wanted to read with their children.
What is the 'mission of God' recorded throughout the Bible? It is the product of long-standing contemplation on what identity and how children living on this earth as God's people should live.
Not only does it help you explore these questions by directly searching the Bible, but it also provides the joy of learning together and concrete application through chapter-by-chapter discussion questions.
This book, tailored for teenagers and born from a voluntary reading group of parents, is perfect for the whole family to read together and is also suitable as a basic religious education textbook.

Into the book
God has a grand purpose for the entire creation he created.
The purpose is to bless the whole world with a full relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and to that end, God created a people to fulfill that mission with Him.
Then, He conveyed to us God's heart toward the created world.
In this way, missions originate from God's heart and are transmitted to our hearts.
We must examine ourselves within the great current of God's mission.
This is because we need to know whose mission we are truly doing and whose will we are following.
For our missionary goals to align with God's missionary goals, we must properly understand the story of which we are a part: the Bible.
So this book begins with knowing the story we are part of.
---From "p.14, Introduction"

The title of this book is “The Mission of God’s Children.”
Through this book, we will consider who God's children are as spoken of throughout the Bible and what they are here for.
The Bible is very interested in what kind of people God's children are.
If our mission is to spread the good news, we must first become people of the good news.
So what does it mean to be a person of good news? It means testifying through our lives what it means to believe in the good news—the gospel—and be transformed.
I will explore various Bible passages to see that the gospel is not something to be simply believed, but something that must lead to obedience.
---From "p.15, Introduction"

What does "arrest" mean? Going to jail for committing a crime? The speed of a pitcher's pitch in a baseball game? Of course, there are homonyms with those meanings.
But the word "redemption" in the Bible means that the legal freedom of property, animals, and humans is returned to their original owners by paying a price.
It means that Jesus paid the price for our sins, which made us children of God but slaves to sin, by shedding His blood on the cross.
This is 'restraint'.
---From "p.22, Chapter 1, We Who Know Our Own Story"

Blessings also extend into relationships with other people.
Like Potiphar, who was blessed because of Joseph, or Laban, who became rich with Jacob because of the blessing God gave him, those who receive God's blessing become blessings themselves and have a positive influence on those around them.
So how can we receive and enjoy blessings? Blessings aren't something we deserve or something we receive as a result of our good deeds.
The only way to receive and continue to enjoy blessings is through a relationship of love, trust, and obedience to God.
---From "p.43, Chapter 3: We Become Blessings and Spread Blessings"

Every moral choice we make in our lives, whether as individuals or as communities, is truly important.
It always has a great impact on God's mission.
If we fail to follow God's example and live honestly and justly, not only will our personal relationship with God be ruined, but we will also prevent God from keeping the promise He made to Abraham.
But if we follow the Lord's ways and live in righteousness and justice, God will keep His promise to bless all nations!

55-56, Chapter 4, “We Follow the Holy Path”

The Exodus shows us how vast and broad the scope of God's action as redeemer for His people is.
And the cross and resurrection of Jesus is the culmination of the Exodus, a victory over all that opposes God and oppresses His people.
What God does for us creates a missionary flow.
---From "p.68, Chapter 5: Living as Saved Children"

God has already saved us, and we have become his people.
With faith and gratitude for the grace of salvation bestowed by God, we must obey His word and live holy lives.
Only then will God's salvation and blessings for all nations flow through us to the whole world.
---From "p.80, Chapter 6, We Represent God in the World"

The good deeds of God's children are beautiful and attractive.
It is like a light that allows others to see God.
Because God himself shines with justice and mercy, when God is with us, we are first transformed by that light.
And when people see our actions that resemble God, they will come to know the true God and worship Him!
---From "p.93, Chapter 7: Leading Others to God"

One day, Suyeong and Jimin had a chance to talk about Christianity.
But Sooyoung didn't know God, and Jimin didn't really believe in God either, so they ended up talking to each other.
There is a similar passage in the Old Testament book of Isaiah.
---From "p.111, Chapter 9: We Who Testify of the Living God"

When Seoyeon's classmates were ostracizing and insulting a friend for no reason, she took the friend's side.
However, because of that, I was hated by my other friends and ended up being ostracized.
As we live our daily lives following the heart of Jesus, we may encounter unexpected difficulties.
---From "p.151, Chapter 12: Living Our Daily Lives as the Word Says"

The entire story of the Bible, from creation to new creation, is a story we must know, a story of which we are a part.
Mission is about being with God in this grand story, learning God's word well, becoming a community that resembles God, and living so that God's will may be done throughout the world.
---From "p.167, Conclusion"

God's Story to a Young Person Who Asks the Reason for Life
