Book Introduction
Learn the true meaning of life in crisis and hardship
A time of hope that leads to a deeper confession of God.
A 7-week course to learn wisdom and renew your life through trials.
There is no such thing as a smooth life.
Hard times come to everyone.
Dark clouds gather over our peaceful daily lives, and the winter of life begins, a lonely time when no one can comfort us.
You might start a new job, have a baby, lose your job or retire, have a rebellious child, or find yourself caring for a sick parent.
You may face serious problems such as the death of a loved one, divorce, serious illness, or sin that ruins your life and causes hardship to those around you.
How should we accept this pain and loss that strikes us so unexpectedly? How should we endure this excruciating time of suffering? Where can we find answers to the questions of life that resonate deep within our hearts?
The author experienced the winter of his life after the death of his parents, whom he had cared for with great affection.
In those lonely times when no one's comfort could provide any strength, I wrestled with the fundamental questions of life and approached God.
And I experienced God's grace through Ecclesiastes.
Solomon, the wisest man in the world and the man who experienced the best life in the world, also faced the winter of his life and wrestled with the meaning of life.
And he put the truth of life and wisdom of life that he discovered into the book of Ecclesiastes.
Ecclesiastes is a gift for us as we go through times of suffering.
The Book of Ecclesiastes reveals the harsh realities of life, the honest emotions felt at that time, and the difficult truths of life that are difficult to accept.
By following the meaning of life and the wisdom of life discovered by the author of Ecclesiastes, you can reorganize your life from an eternal perspective and enjoy the true joy of life that you have never experienced before.
"Accompaniment" is a seven-week study of Ecclesiastes for women going through difficult times in their lives.
This book will serve as a wise guide to help you safely pass through the rough and arduous winter of life and reach a safe place.
The winter of life that suddenly began is not just a harsh season.
In that time, we can grow amazingly as we have a deeper and more intimate relationship with God.

Into the book
We must each live our own lives, fulfill our given missions, and do the work assigned to us by history.
Understanding the concept of raising up, blessing, and preparing our successors to carry on our legacy allows us to experience great joy when we step back to allow our descendants to step forward.
How you end and leave your job, church, or ministry is up to you.
Will we be able to bless the next generation of leaders and step down with joy? Or will we not step down in a timely manner, leaving everyone to endure pain and hardship before handing over the reins? In this situation, the most crucial thing is to recognize that the ministry or work we've been entrusted with is God's work, not ours.
Leave it now in the Lord's hands.
Then pray to God to reveal His plan for when and to whom He will assign the task.
And open your eyes wide and look carefully at who God has entrusted to you.
--- p.84
Life is like a library, and each moment that comes into your life is like a book.
Each 'book' or 'time' can be taken out of the bookshelf, studied, and the necessary lessons learned are learned. Then, when that time has passed, the 'book' can be put back on the bookshelf until the time comes again when it is needed.
We will continue to take out and read the books we need one by one while we live, and put them away.
Some seasons will be comedies and some seasons will be tragedies.
But we can learn from all those seasons.
Sometimes you can take out multiple books at once and experience multiple seasons at the same time.
That's when life gets complicated.
For example, a grandchild may be born at the same time as the parents' death.
But we can learn to live in each season with wisdom, knowledge, grace, and ultimately, true joy.
--- p.111
When the winter of life comes, we must spend more time in prayer than ever before.
Through our prayers, strongholds will be broken down and the life of the Holy Spirit will be planted in people's lives, resulting in abundant fruitfulness.
We may not see all the fruits of prayer while we are alive.
But if you do not tire out in prayer, you will have peace of mind, believing that you have done the most important work in cooperation with God.
God hears our prayers and does amazing things beyond what we can imagine.
--- p.172
Financial situations can change all the time, so even if you make money easily, it can suddenly disappear without warning.
The stock market fluctuates depending on political situations, weather changes, and investor sentiment.
How we manage our money can tell us a lot about our state of mind.
Solomon teaches us in Ecclesiastes and Proverbs how to wisely handle the wealth God has entrusted to us.
--- p.188
Solomon's sex life was completely out of balance and completely against God's will.
He did not take only one woman as his wife, but he had hundreds of women.
Solomon's pagan wives led him away from the worship of the one true God.
It is clear that Solomon is speaking about a wicked and stubborn woman in this passage of Scripture.
I am not generalizing this to all women.
But we can choose what kind of woman we will be.
You can use your femininity to seduce a man, or you can use your God-given femininity to love and satisfy your husband.
--- p.272
There is no need to apologize to your child for telling him to obey.
God commands that children obey their parents' authority.
But first, children must know that their parents love them unconditionally.
Children who know they are unconditionally loved by their parents are more likely to accept fair discipline.
Parents should carefully and prayerfully establish fair rules for their children to follow, and once they have established rules, they should firmly adhere to them.
Only then can we raise our children to be strong, stable, pious, and of good character.
Children should not be made to obey their parents out of fear.
You must be able to follow the rules set by your parents while being confident in their love.
The motive for establishing authority in the home is love.
--- p.279
In a 2018 study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, participants were asked, "What decade was the most productive in your life?"
Most people responded that they were most productive in their 60s and 70s.
Why? Because my children are all grown and independent, and I have relatively more time and money available, life has become easier in many ways.
And the older generation of this age has already made many foolish mistakes when they were younger, so they are wiser.
--- p.318~319
The day when I will say goodbye to this world is approaching.
Mourners will come, but once the funeral is over, everyone will go back to their own lives.
Solomon said, “You will go to your eternal homes, and everyone else will return to their work.”
Now, while the sun is still up, we must remember the Creator.
There will come a 'difficult day' when we will no longer be given the opportunity to choose our Creator.
There is a time coming when there will be no way for our sins to be forgiven.
Because there will come a time when we will either die without ever understanding His sacrificial love for us, or we will grow too old and have no choice.
