Publisher's Review
* Saul Leiter, a 20th-century photography revolutionary

For over 60 years, Saul Leiter photographed and painted almost every day, leaving behind a vast archive.
Most of them never saw the light of day during his lifetime.
Saul, who often found inspiration within a few blocks of his home in Lower Manhattan, had a knack for finding beauty in the most ordinary places.
His emotive color photographs of New York in the 1950s and 1960s went largely unnoticed in their time, but remain beloved today.
Saul also had success as a fashion photographer for Harper's Bazaar.
Meanwhile, I took black-and-white photos of street scenes while walking every day, and when I returned home, I took nude and private portraits.
I continued to experiment with painting, including abstract watercolors, impromptu sketchbook drawings, and painted photographs.

* Contains 332 photos and illustrations!

Created in close collaboration with the Saul Leiter Foundation, this book showcases Saul's diverse and interconnected oeuvre, including several previously unpublished works, offering the first glimpse of Saul Leiter as a complete artist.
Margit Erb and Michael Parillo, curators of Saul Leiter's extensive archive, have carefully selected materials that illustrate the artist and man he was, resulting in a total of 332 photographs and illustrations in this book.
