Why, Santiago?
Description
Book Introduction
"May all pilgrims who take on the challenge live forever as living legends."
A message of encouragement to all the pilgrims who have been inspired!
I set out to Santiago with the mindset of putting an end to my 29 years of travel experience.
I wondered if I could finish the race, but I decided to just trust myself.
I am grateful for this true pilgrimage that has turned my worldview upside down, and I realized on the day I finished that this is only the beginning.
For those preparing for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, a lifelong bucket list item, we present the author's honest and unfiltered account of the emotional changes he experienced while walking from the beginning to the day of completion.
The Camino de Santiago pilgrimage is not a path only for special people to walk, but anyone can become a pilgrim. Age, occupation, wealth, and fame are not necessary on this path, and it naturally makes you put everything aside.
Santiago taught me what forgiveness and challenges are in life, and he made sure I didn't miss any of the detailed healing points.
"Why Santiago?" is a must-read essay on mindfulness before embarking on a pilgrimage.

Into the book
The shower room door is open because there is no door.
Even when we showered facing each other,
Dozens of people snoring in one space
Even when I couldn't sleep,
Even when the shoulder strap of the backpack suddenly broke,
The blisters have been going on for several days.
Even when I can't walk,
Even after walking all day in the rain,
Even when I was exhausted from the intense sun,
Unable to support the weight of the backpack
Even when I sat down,
Even when I had to walk alone on a dark road at dawn,
Even with a sleeping bag, it's cold at dawn
Even when it was difficult to handle,
Even when I feel lonely because I am alone,
Even if there are shortcomings and inconveniences
There can be no complaints or dissatisfaction.
Because this is also the pilgrim's path
These are things that must be endured.

Publisher's Review
Santiago, the path permitted by God!
It is a difficult path with only human will without the help of God.
Let us not forget that we are all alone and let us not be afraid of loneliness.
Let's fall into the shackles of a free spirit.
The path to meet God with a pilgrim's heart, following in the footsteps of James and walking along the thousand-year-old path where the breath of the saint lives, is a difficult one.
If it were an easy path, I wouldn't have chosen it.
I wanted to confirm and overcome human limitations in the realm of the divine.
It's reality, but it's like going back to the past. It's the past, but it's like returning to reality. I transcend time and walk the same path over and over again.
Waiting for something undecided and waiting for someone is hope and the future.
God said that he will give you as many trials as you can bear.
Let's make the unbearable weight our own with patience and perseverance.
Guided by fate, I prepare for a beautiful farewell at every moment, and as I walk towards the finish line, my heart feels like it's going to burst.
It's all God's work.
I want to share the gifts God gave me with people.
I can only respect you.
I am a traveler.
Because of my tendency to go out whenever I get a chance, I've traveled around the world and visited 45 countries.
What was it that I sought to discover, to connect with the world? Despite having focused on one direction for 29 years, I find myself wandering around, searching for a new path.
While I was hesitating like that, Santiago suddenly came to me.
I can't imagine what it would be like to travel solely by walking.
Eating, sleeping, and walking are all there is to daily life…
The process will not be easy, but the sense of accomplishment will be great.
I'm still thirsty.
The desire stirring within me wants to find an answer by clashing fiercely or desperately with the world.
My life is still worth living, so I am ready to shed the heavy burden of everyday life and confidently embark on a new path.
Life is like that.
Things don't go as I want, as I plan, or as I set out to do.
All things are faced with obstacles.
It is a difficult path where you have to clear away any rocks you come across and get back up if you happen to fall.
Nevertheless, this path has taught me a lot.
Instead of worrying about other people's lives, invest in and challenge your own life.
Go for that high place.
The self-esteem that comes from a sense of accomplishment lasts a long time.
“Forget the years that have passed and find your life on the Camino.
Olvidate del tiempo pasado, y haz del Camino tu vida.”
