Into the book
It was built by Great Master Kobo Hongo and houses a large Buddha statue that is over 10 meters tall.
Completed over four years starting in 1988, the Fukuoka Daibutsu is the largest seated Buddha statue in Japan, with a whopping 5,000 smaller Buddha statues enshrined behind it.
Next to the Great Buddha of Fukuoka, there is a Hell Tunnel where you can experience the darkness of Hell firsthand, along with a Hell painting depicting Hell.
The Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, a national treasure carved from a single tree, is also a must-see at Dochoji Temple.
--- p.92 From "Dochoji"

More people come to see the life-size Gundam than to visit the shops or restaurants.
The Gundam erected in Forest Park at the entrance of Lalaport Fukuoka is the RX-93ff V Gundam model that appeared in the first original theatrical version of the series released in 1988.
You can see a performance of Gundam moving every hour from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day, and Gundam animation is projected along the building's walls every 30 minutes from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
--- p.116 From "Lalaport Fukuoka"

Japanese ramen has developed into regional specialties, with each region having its own distinct flavors, including the broth, seasoning, thickness of the noodles, and the amount of toppings added. This is called gotochi ramen (regional specialty ramen).
Among the numerous Gotochi ramen representing each region of Japan, Sapporo ramen, Kitakata ramen, and Hakata ramen are considered the three major ramen of Japan and are loved nationwide.
--- p.132 From "Ramen"

Mojiko, which opened in 1889 and enjoyed its heyday as an international trade port, is home to exotic buildings.
It's time to experience Mojiko's past, which flourished from the Meiji to Showa periods, with your whole body, including JR Mojiko Station, designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, the Moji Mitsui Club where Dr. Einstein stayed during his visit to Japan, and the Osaka Merchant Marine Building with its beautiful orange octagonal tower.
Let's embark on a retro Mojiko trip to discover Mojiko's glorious past.
--- p.236 From "Mojiko Retro"

This is a unique restaurant located in Kannawa, home to the Jigoku Onsen, a must-see attraction on any trip to Beppu.
You can cook meat, seafood, and various vegetables using the steam from the hot springs that are close to 100 degrees, and the entire process from selecting the ingredients to cooking is done by yourself.
The ingredients are soaked in the heat of the hot springs, and their unique flavors can be felt throughout.
Moreover, there is the fun of cooking using the heat of the hot springs, an experience that can only be had in Beppu.
After enjoying a delicious meal, you can enjoy a foot bath or drink hot spring water directly as if you were drinking water from a medicinal spring.
--- p.269 From "Hell Steamed Workshop Kannawa"
