Book Introduction
An easy and friendly book for anyone who wants to write well.

Professor Na Min-ae's 'Book Review Special Lecture', the most popular lecture at Seoul National University's General Education Department, has been published as a book.
The author, a professor of writing at Seoul National University, has met with at least 200 students every year since 2007, and has read, corrected, and taught them from at least 200 to several hundred book reviews and essays each year.
In the process, I learned what many students find difficult and what they are thirsty for, and the author's easy and practical lectures became the students' 'favorite' lectures.
As the students understood it perfectly and the cheers continued like a hurricane, requests to study book reviews increased from other schools and organizations.

The author says that he actually meets more people with the eyes of a student outside of school.
There are many people who want to write book reviews, but there are not many institutions or specialized textbooks that teach book reviews.
And so this book was born.
In order to bridge the mental distance that makes the term 'book review' seem inherently difficult, we have erased much of the academic nature of school and created an easy-to-read book for anyone who wants to write a book review.
This book's clear role and distinguishing point is to help readers learn the framework for writing book reviews in a short period of time, build the "basic stamina" for writing, and easily challenge themselves to write reviews.

Into the book
‘Writing’ is like the youngest of three brothers.
Writing is never born 'alone' or 'first'.
All writing is born after its older brother, called content, and its second brother, called content understanding.
Therefore, writing must be accompanied by reading and understanding.
The best field to cover all three of these at once is 'book reviews'.
The three steps of 'reading, understanding, and writing' can be said to be an absolute rule of writing that has been passed down from ancient times.
To sum up, a book review is not simply a piece of writing.
It is the intersection of study and writing.
