Book Introduction
Even these days, when I'm generally satisfied, looking at the photos makes me miss it again.
Georgia, mountain life there
It was the most mystical and dreamlike experience I could ever have.

Daechi-dong Kids, KAIST Industrial Design Department, top graduate, etc.
He, who has been following the path of a travel writer, leaving behind the path that everyone envies, has returned with his second book, three years after his first travel essay, 『Banana and Then』.
A mountain valley in Georgia, hidden between low and high clouds.
His story unfolds in a small, beautiful place filled with gentle animals and people who speak Georgian and Russian.

Living the life of a traveling man, he comes to a realization after losing his camera in Spain.
At some point, traveling became a repetition of taking photos and recording.
And the fact that curiosity and excitement were exhausted.
He stopped traveling, thinking, "If traveling doesn't give me anything, there's no point in continuing to travel," and began living a reclusive life in a remote house on the edge of a cliff in a small town in Georgia.

This book is a compilation of the author's time spent at that time.
He reveals, "I've only lived as a quiet loner, so there aren't any major events or touching anecdotes with a perfect beginning, development, climax, and conclusion." However, through his time, readers come to realize this.
That an extremely simple life can breathe life into an ordinary landscape, that past experiences can somehow lead to a better life in the present.

Into the book
When I look at the picture, I miss it again.
Even these days, when I am generally satisfied, I sometimes feel like going back deep into the Caucasus Mountains.
If I think about it, most of my memories are of being terribly lonely and bored in a single room.

It's different from the feeling of wanting to run away.
Maybe I'm missing the quiet world I created for myself.
A peaceful world of my own, different from the lively and bustling reality, where even time stands still and I can rest.
I often want to jump into that kind of solitude and swim freely, and selfishly, I wish the people I love would wait for me like that.
Perhaps, in the corner of my genetic information that made me a traveler, there's a small mark that says 'hermit'?
--- p.6~7

After getting off the night train, I took a bus and arrived at the village of Stepantsminda deep in the mountains.
As rain was falling steadily from the sky, the first impression of the village was quite gloomy.

At that time, everything in the village still felt awkward.
Of course, if you were stranded alone in an unfamiliar world and had to find a place to stay right away, it wouldn't be awkward at all, but even the most basic village name felt awkward.
This is because I saw a sign and realized that the name I had firmly believed to be 'Stephans-Minda' was actually 'Stephans-Minda'.
I don't care if it's Min-da or Tsu-min-da, but wouldn't it feel quite strange if someone called you "Kim Cheol-su"? Anyway, I had to find a house without a kitchen in that strange village, so I was running around frantically.
There was no white rabbit, but it felt like Alice in Wonderland.

After running for a while, the color of the eternal snow covering the peak of Seol Mountain begins to change.
I take that as a signal and go back the way I came.
The perennial snow gradually changes from a low-saturation purple to a golden hue.
It's still shrouded in darkness except for the glowing surroundings, so it looks like a gold-wrapped Kiss chocolate floating in the sky.

And at the moment when that ecstatic light flashes most brilliantly, the sun slowly rises from behind the snow-covered mountains.
Stop running and just look at the scene.
Every time, I feel like I alone have been given life for that day.
This is the moment when I feel most alive.
