Busy Elementary Literacy Newspaper 1
Description
Book Introduction
“What news are you watching today?”
The news lesson the children looked forward to every week was made into a book.
"Busy Elementary Literacy Newspaper" by a teacher with seven years of experience
With literacy a hot topic these days, the first volume of "Busy Elementary Literacy Newspaper," a book that develops the news reading curriculum introduced to improve elementary school students' literacy, has been released! "Busy Elementary Literacy Newspaper" is designed to naturally develop reading comprehension by reading interesting newspaper articles, even for children who are afraid of Chinese characters or even slightly long sentences.
The vocabulary in this book was selected from textbook vocabulary and Chinese character vocabulary from the latest articles by a current elementary school teacher, and the advanced vocabulary was refined to suit the level of elementary school students.
It is scientifically designed to help you properly digest newspaper articles by reading the articles twice, learning key vocabulary, and rewriting the titles yourself.
By repeatedly practicing summarizing long texts into one sentence, which children these days are afraid of, we can reduce the fear of reading.
Let's start with a light heart, thinking of it as 'reading' rather than 'studying', for 15 minutes a day.
Before you know it, your non-fiction reading skills will have improved.

Publisher's Review
15 minutes a day, intellectual pleasure that improves non-fiction reading comprehension!
Busy Elementary Literacy Newspaper
· Literacy doesn't grow on its own!
‘Literacy’ is one of the major topics in our education.
In fact, what I have noticed from teaching many children in school is that their ability to read and understand text does not develop as much as expected.
Looking at the recent results of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's elementary school literacy test, I once again realized that this issue is not simply a matter of perception, but an urgent educational challenge that can be confirmed by numbers.
· A powerful tool that develops vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
The 'News Reading' class was an attempt to solve this problem.
At first, children had difficulty with news articles that contained Chinese characters, current affairs terms, and complex sentence structures.
To address these challenges, we consistently conducted weekly classes using news articles in our classrooms for two years. As a result, the children became interested in current issues and began to gain confidence in organizing and expressing their thoughts in writing.
Through these experiences, I have confirmed that reading newspapers is a powerful tool for developing not only literacy but also vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
In particular, the process of discussing 'what is important news' and 'what perspective should we read it from' helped children develop a broader and deeper perspective.
Additionally, because the newspaper itself is like a social studies textbook containing the most up-to-date information, it has had a positive effect on learning.
· Create 15 minutes a day to develop your literacy skills!
The articles covered in this book are not difficult or heavy news.
These are stories you absolutely must know, and stories you'll want to think about.
Start with a light heart, thinking of it as 'reading' rather than 'studying', for 15 minutes a day.
After 40 days, you will have grown into a person who can see the world more broadly and think more deeply.
Literacy is not just the ability to read well, it is the power to understand the world.
I hope that every child who reads this book will grow in that strength.
