Reconstructed into a travel guidebook with ample collection value

A faithful composition of three volumes by region

『My Cultural Heritage Tour for Travelers』 is comprised of three volumes and aims to include all the content from the domestic edition of the existing ‘tour’ volumes.
Volume 1, Central Region, explores the cultural heritage of the Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Gangwon regions.
It includes a travelogue of Buyeo, Nonsan, and Boryeong that follows the history of Baekje, and a travelogue of Gangwon-do, including Wonju, that rediscovers the charm of visiting abandoned temple sites.
Volume 2, Jeolla-Jeju, contains the travelogue "Number 1 in Southern Exploration" that marked the splendid beginning of the "Exploration Report" series, as well as the full text of the Jeju Island travelogue that sheds new light on Jeju's cultural heritage, which had previously been considered a mere tourist attraction.
Volume 3 of the Gyeongsang region contains a travelogue of Gyeongju, an exhibition hall of countless cultural heritages, and a travelogue of temples in Gyeongsang Province, represented by Unmunsa Temple and Buseoksa Temple.

It is a record of the nationwide travel boom that the existing six domestic volumes of the original edition created, and it offers a new way to read the travelogue that left behind famous phrases such as “You see as much as you know,” “The whole country is a museum,” and “If you love, you will know, and if you know, you will see, and what you see then will not be the same as before.”
It will also provide a reading experience of a completely different quality from travel guides that are simply filled with travel information and restaurant recommendations.
Yoo Hong-jun's cultural heritage commentary, which is on a different level from the countless information floating around on the Internet, is worth reading and collecting, and will be loved by people of all ages.

Publisher's Review
A compact-sized 'travel guide' for true travelers!
Reconstructed into a travel guidebook with ample collection value

With a cumulative sales of 3.7 million copies, the first million-seller in Korean humanities, and the first to lead the boom in cultural heritage tours by turning the entire country into a museum, the six domestic volumes of Yoo Hong-jun's "My Cultural Heritage Tour" have been reorganized into three regional volumes, and "My Cultural Heritage Tour for Travelers" (total of three volumes) has been published.
This 'Travel Edition', planned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of 'Creation and Criticism', reorganized the domestic section of the existing 'Travelogue' divided into Volumes 1-3 and 6-8 into the central region, Jeolla-Jeju region, and Gyeongsang region (Volumes 4-5 are 'North Korea') to provide a practical information guide for domestic travel.
For readers who have read the existing edition of 'Dapsagi', which is said to be in every household, and for readers who have not yet encountered 'Dapsagi', this 'Traveler's Edition', which has been composed in a much more convenient format to enhance the feeling of holding and reading, will be a faithful guide to domestic travel and is well worth owning.
Each volume includes the 'tour schedule and guide map' that was included in the previous edition.

It includes a travelogue of Buyeo, Nonsan, and Boryeong that follows the history of Baekje, and a travelogue of Gangwon-do, including Wonju, that offers a new appreciation for the charm of visiting abandoned temple sites.
Volume 3, Gyeongsang Province, contains a travelogue of Gyeongju, an exhibition hall of countless cultural heritages, and a travelogue of temples in Gyeongsang Province, represented by Unmunsa Temple and Buseoksa Temple.

A guide to in-depth field trips

As can be seen from the fact that author Yoo Hong-jun wrote in the preface of this edition of “Traveler’s Edition - ‘My Cultural Heritage Travelogue’ for Travelers” that “When I first wrote ‘Travelogue’, it was a travelogue for reading,” before the 7th volume, ‘Jeju Edition’ and the 8th volume, ‘Namhangang Edition’, he often traveled all over the country rather than to specific regions.
Because of this, when going on an actual field trip or trip, it was inconvenient to only see the content of the area in a compressed form.
Meanwhile, although numerous regional tourism guidebooks have been published, there remains a persistent demand for "tourist" travel that includes in-depth interpretations of cultural heritage.

Accordingly, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of 『Creation and Criticism』 this year, Changbi has come up with a plan to help travelers understand cultural heritage across the country and to reconstruct it into a guidebook for new field trips.
In this edition of 'Traveler's Edition', we focused more on regional reorganization rather than comprehensive revision, and we wanted to present it with a handy format and new binding.
'Dapsagi', which still retains its appeal as a book that tens of thousands of readers seek out and read every year, will become a travel guidebook and a humanities book that breathes life into people, history, and culture for readers who have not read 'Dapsagi' before through this 'Traveler Edition', and will become a travel guidebook with added practicality for readers who have already read 'Dapsagi'.
In particular, we aimed to target young readers by presenting a completely different design from the existing cover, but we wanted to include all the contents of the existing 'Dapsagi'.
Yoo Hong-jun, the author of “Travelogue,” which has been loved by readers for over 20 years, said about this, “At some point, ‘My Cultural Heritage Travelogue’ will become an old text that cannot be enjoyed and will lose its life as a reading material, and only the content will survive to become a guide for travelogues.
In that case, I also thought it would be wise to conclude the final form of ‘My Cultural Heritage Tour’ as a guidebook for the tour.”

While never allowing for lax reading, the 'Travelogue', which is alive with wit and writing style, has been reborn as a 'Travel Guide' beyond a humanities book.
I hope that this book, "My Cultural Heritage Tour for Travelers," which has undergone a reasonable transformation, will successfully settle into the realm of high-quality practical books.
