Into the book
In Europe, rubber began to be used in textiles and leather products in 1823.
In 1888, rubber consumption increased rapidly, including its use in bicycle tires.
Funds poured into Manaus, the world's only rubber producing region at the time.
Civilization also progressed rapidly thanks to the rich.
It was the second city in South America to have electricity, and street lighting was installed before London.

In 1896, Brazil's first opera house was built.
In Europe, luxury cruisers carried performing groups and aristocrats who wanted to see the performances.
The guide boasts, spitting.
He looks completely intoxicated with pride.
I thought, 'Is there anyone who hasn't been a bully when they were young?'
The columns at the entrance to the opera house are made of Italian marble, the doors are made of French wood, the chairs are made of well-ventilated Indian rattan, and the ceiling of the VIP waiting room is decorated with pure gold.
The opera house smelled of luxury.

A gift from God, Brazil's nature

What good is a pretty city if it's so inefficient?
“Is this number 570?” I asked the concierge of the building I had barely found in time for my afternoon appointment.
“But?” “I came here looking for Portodigital.” “There’s no such company here.” I searched with great difficulty, but it was a waste of time.

I called again to confirm.
They say they moved to a new building last month to expand their office.
'How do I find that building?' The person there decided to come out to where I was.
Fortunately, it wasn't far.
We followed the Porto Digital staff who guided us and found that we were in the 12-story building, the tallest building in downtown.
The Atlantic Ocean stretches out in the distance ahead, and the old-fashioned city buildings come into view behind.

Even though it was already a little past our scheduled time, we couldn't help but take a commemorative photo with Director Bruno, who greeted us after asking for our understanding.
Director Bruno explained about Porto Digital.
“It was founded to develop the software and information and communications industries.
Two incubators and two research institutes are participating in our activities.
“There are already 191 companies in downtown Recife participating.” --- Part 2.
Cities of romance and festivals going through turbulent times

It is no coincidence that Brazil was able to build a unique city like Brasilia.
You can feel this when you look at the lifestyles of people who are always free-spirited and creative.
“What kind of house is this! The living room is so small that I have to bury my nose in the TV to watch.
“But do you practice ballet in the kitchen? The kitchen is huge….” This was my first impression when I started looking for a house to rent after arriving in São Paulo.
"What the heck? Is the owner of this house a bar owner? Why would they build such a grand bar in the middle of the house? I don't know if the house is that big, but the living room is just the size of a mouse's tail." The second house I visited was also hot.

In our view, the house is in really bad shape.
I asked the real estate agent why this was happening.
They say it's because people in Brazil have strong personalities.
The contractor who builds the apartment sells it after building only the frame of the house.
Then, the people who buy the house will be responsible for the layout and interior repairs of the house themselves.
The structure of a house varies greatly because the layout is determined by the individuality of the person.
In Korea, there are several rooms centered around a neat living room, and a kitchen, storage room, etc., so it is a stark contrast to that.

People who live intoxicated by happiness

Publisher's Review
You can never know this by just reading existing travel information books!
The real inside of Brazil, directly experienced by KOTRA Trade Center!

If you look at a 'travel information book', you will find that it contains a lot of information.
Things to prepare in Korea: flight tickets, local accommodations, restaurants, etc. These days, thanks to the advancement of smartphone search functions and applications, it's very easy to obtain most information before departing.
The problem is the ‘quality of information.’
It is important to first determine what information you need for the trip you want.
If you blindly follow the places that others go, eat and sleep, your trip may end up being so meaningless that you forget the original purpose of the trip.
Also, since everyone has different tastes, there is no guarantee that you will have a fun trip just by blindly following what others do.

The travel stories covered in All That Brazil have a clear theme.
As can be seen from the subtitle, ‘A travelogue of every nook and cranny of Brazil, carried by a briefcase and on foot,’ the purpose of this book is ‘business travel.’

It is a well-known fact that Samsung and LG have already established themselves as mainstream companies in Brazil.
The K-pop craze in Brazil can also be easily accessed through various media.
In fact, Brazil is a huge market that even small and medium-sized enterprises are interested in due to its population of 200 million and the scale of investment in improving its poor social infrastructure.

So what's the difference between a thriving company and one that's struggling? The first requirement for entering the Brazilian market is, of course, understanding the market.
Brazil is an unknown world to us.
They are people with cultures as different as the distances on opposite sides of the globe.
After more than a decade of effort, leading global companies and large Korean corporations have established themselves in the Brazilian market.

To understand Brazil, you need to visit its many cities and tourist attractions.
This will give you a taste of the Brazilian lifestyle.
We must also make efforts to understand their way of thinking and cultural characteristics through visits to carnivals, various festivals, and soccer stadiums.
It will serve as a foundation for broadening the scope of conversation with local people.

While enjoying Brazil, do you really need rigid research and analytical approaches to understand and approach the market's characteristics? Instead, vivid, enjoyable experiences can be more effective.
This is why I wrote this book.
