It is believed that Liezi lived during the period of great turmoil between the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.
During that period, countless feudal lords fought tirelessly for hegemony over the world.
In a dizzying world where one cannot see even an inch ahead, he governed himself, his family, and his country with the wisdom of Taoism.


A translator who has been translating classics and scriptures for a long time says this.
“The Tao Te Ching speaks of reality, the source of reality experienced by the enlightened person.
The Book of Changes shows how the mind of a person who has realized the source of reality moves.
Meanwhile, 『Yeolja』 honestly shows how an enlightened person lives.”

A person who remains within his own nature and trusts himself has neither a sense of comfort nor a sense of danger.
Just accept what comes to you.
There is no concept of good or bad, so they are not influenced by what happens outside or by the thoughts and attitudes of other people.
They do not toil their bodies to show off their strength, nor do they exert their minds to show off their intelligence.
While loving life, I also accept death naturally.

Yet his body was still intact.
The diners who had looked down on him lowered their heads, saying they had never recognized the Taoist, and he spoke.
“I simply believed that everything my teachers said was true, and I did whatever anyone said without considering the pros and cons.”

When a man who was skilled at taming wild animals was asked the secret of his skill, he answered as follows:
“I am careful not to anger the tiger, but that doesn’t mean I always please him.
It's important to strike a balance so that you're neither too dissatisfied nor too satisfied.
That way, when I go next to him, he treats me like his friend and doesn't pay much attention to me.
So even if the door is left open, they have no intention of returning to the wild.”

In the Tangmun section, a utopia is depicted.
A king lost his way and wandered until he came to a strange country in the far north.
The strange country that people heard about later was like this.
'The people of that country were gentle and kind, living in harmony with nature, without quarreling or fighting.
There was no one showing off, no one being jealous or making a fuss.
People of all ages and genders lived in harmony.
There were no kings or politicians, and men and women lived together freely.'

I hope that after reading this book, many people will live their own lives rather than following someone else's.
And I hope you never lose your composure in your daily life.
