Description
Book Introduction
The following changes were made in 『Career Counseling』(2nd edition).
First, the overall framework of the book, which the authors established through numerous meetings and discussions when planning the first edition of 『Career Counseling』, has been maintained as much as possible, as we believe that it is still not too difficult to maintain even after five years.
Second, as the use of various information and data is very important in career counseling, the statistical data, job information, educational information, and institutional aspects that have changed over time have been revised and supplemented to the latest version.
Third, the content of each chapter reflects new theoretical and empirical research explored since the publication of the first edition.
In particular, we have made every effort to reflect as many of the latest new techniques and methodologies that can be utilized when conducting career counseling in the field as possible.

Publisher's Review
Since the first edition of 『Career Counseling』 was published, there have been several changes in the environment surrounding career counseling.
First, with the implementation of the Career Education Act in 2015, institutional support was created to enable various activities related to career education, career guidance, and career counseling to be more robust.
Additionally, the 'Free Semester System', which made us realize the importance of career guidance and counseling in school settings, is being expanded and strengthened into the 'Free Year System'.
In addition, as the public sector transitions to 'NCS-based hiring,' the importance of 'basic job skills,' which are closely related to career counseling, is increasingly emphasized.
Recently, as the "Fourth Industrial Revolution" has emerged as a hot topic in various fields, active discussions are being conducted to explore the implications it holds for career counseling.

In the newly published 2nd edition of "Career Counseling," the authors agreed on several revised writing directions and did their best, within the given circumstances, to reflect these in each chapter.
First, when planning the first edition of 『Career Counseling』, the authors met several times to exchange opinions and established the overall framework, which they concluded was still not too unreasonable even after five years, so they decided to maintain it as much as possible.
Second, as the use of various information and data is very important in career counseling, we have revised and supplemented the latest version of statistical data, job information, educational information, and institutional aspects that have changed over time.
Third, the content of each chapter reflects new theoretical and empirical research explored since the publication of the first edition.
In particular, we have made every effort to reflect as many of the latest new techniques and methodologies as possible when conducting career counseling in the field.
As the need for career counseling grows ever more acute due to various environmental changes, we hope this book, published in a new form, will serve as a reliable guide for those seeking to more professionally fulfill their role as career counselors.
