Description
Book Introduction
The main features of this book are as follows:
First, based on an understanding of at-risk youth, a group counseling program for at-risk youth that can be effectively approached in the field was organized by dividing it into types of problem behaviors.
Second, it was designed as a group counseling program to prevent and intervene in the problems of at-risk youth with low self-esteem and negative self-concept, and to serve as a support system.
Third, if a counselor who meets at-risk youth at schools, youth counseling centers, etc. wants to run a group counseling program, the method was described in detail so that anyone can run it.
Fourth, although each problem type program consists of a total of 10 sessions, the feasibility was increased by allowing only the necessary parts to be selected and implemented in case there are program operation and time constraints in reality.
This book is largely divided into five chapters.
Chapter 1 deals with understanding at-risk youth and the characteristics of group counseling for them.
Chapter 2 is a group counseling session for lonely youth, Chapter 3 is a group counseling session for youth who exhibit self-harming or suicidal behavior, Chapter 4 is a group counseling session for youth who exhibit problematic behaviors such as school violence, and finally Chapter 5 is a group counseling session for youth who exhibit smartphone addiction tendencies.
Chapters 2 through 5 establish a program model suitable for at-risk youth based on their characteristics and understanding, and present program content, activity sheets, and lesson plans for each session to help group counselors easily apply the program.
