Following the adoption of the “Bali Roadmap” at the 13th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the issue of reducing greenhouse gases has become a global challenge that can no longer be postponed, regardless of whether it is developed or developing.
In response to this reality, it is highly encouraging that our country has designated the low-carbon, green growth sector as a new national growth engine and is concentrating national capabilities on this sector.
It has been written with significant additions based on recent data, and is structured so that it can be sufficiently understood by second-year students in energy-related departments, including electrical engineering.
I hope that this book will serve as a foundation for the development of new and renewable energy technologies in Korea and contribute to our country becoming a technologically advanced country in this field.
