Future education opens the way through educational theater
Description
Book Introduction
Why am I talking about educational theater now? These are days when the advancement of digital technology is intersecting the human ecosystem with joy and sorrow.
As a result of our failure to control the pace of technological advancement, the very pace itself has become an object of fear.
The accelerated pace of technological innovation following the pandemic has also spread to the education sector.
In a short period of time, the school system has shifted to an edutech-centric focus, and digital literacy has emerged as students' most important future competency.
Everyone says this is a change of the times and a trend.
Rather than approaching these changes in a deconstructive and macroscopic way, the educational field is only hastily adapting and conforming to them, and there are few voices raising questions about their appropriateness or suggesting alternatives.
Education, already chaotic, has lost its center and direction, drifting here and there according to the winds of policy and politics.

Publisher's Review
preface
In this book, the authors ask:
Is the current discourse on future education sufficiently thoughtful and reflective? Is digital education, as it is today, truly the top priority for future education we should be pursuing? Are our children truly developing the skills to navigate the world? Why are educational theater and arts education so important to us in this day and age? How can educational theater serve as a medium for deepening teaching and learning?
The authors aim to focus on what is being missed in the current 'frame' and super-strong 'drive' of future education and critically reflect on it.
And we want to bring back to the world the imagination, interest in people, and warmth of children that are buried in the flood of digital devices.
So that we can recover the teaching and learning that could be lost through edutech through educational theater.
I would like to express my gratitude to Park Young-sa's Deputy Editors Jo Jeong-bin and Jo Yeong-eun for their hard work in publishing this book, and to Ms. Lee Myeong-ju for reading and proofreading the manuscript with all her heart.
I hope that educational theater will give many people the strength to live in this world.
