Description
Book Introduction
A life that accepts even death, eroticism

'Erotism' as extreme solitude, the challenge of silence, a life that delves into death; 'Erotism' as total immanence, the challenge of death, the mystical experience of dying in order not to die; 'Erotism' as merciless violence, extreme imbalance, the agony of nakedness; 'Erotism' as a space of rupture, darkness, the primal darkness of the pitch-black night... ... For us humans, there are only two possibilities.
If one path is the path of asceticism that remains a shabby entity, the other is the path of throwing myself into 'eroticism' as the summit of existence with a single word.

Publisher's Review
Eroticism is a violation of taboos in its entirety, and is a human act.
The two concepts that are important and crucial to eroticism as a life that acknowledges even death are taboo and violation.
The concepts of taboo and transgression are central to the study of erotica.
It is also what allows us to distinguish between humans and animals.
Animals do not make rules, they only obey the commands of nature.
On the other hand, humans who reject the impulses of nature have built a human world on top of history.
If the human world in its moral, social, economic, and political aspects is the external thing that distinguishes humans from animals, then eroticism is the internal thing that makes humans different from animals.

Animal sex is subject to no other constraints than those of nature.
However, eroticism cannot escape other human limitations, such as shame, discomfort, limitations of working hours, and moral condemnation.
Violation is not a word that is in opposition to taboo, but rather it complements the taboo and completes its meaning.
Georges Bataille illustrates this point by giving examples of various forms of transgression: cannibalism, duels, war, hunting, etc.
Georges Bataille, who linked such forms of violation to religion or primitive customs, came to the conclusion that eroticism is a form of transgressive violence.
