Publisher's Review
Healing reference shared by speech therapists!!

Aphasia is a disorder of language function that occurs without any obvious functional abnormality of the speech organs or any particular change in consciousness, and is usually caused by a pathological cause in the brain.
Although patients with aphasia have impaired auditory comprehension and memory, patients with mild to moderate aphasia usually retain knowledge of scripts.
However, if you have difficulty understanding sentences or conversations, it is reasonable to focus treatment on understanding words rather than the entire language.

Hospitals also lack systematic and step-by-step language therapy programs for patients with aphasia and cognitive communication disorders.
This book was designed to overcome this.
This book consists of six tasks: vocabulary, interrogatives, propositional questions, sentences, sentences with connective endings, and discourse comprehension, to cover a wide range of patient groups of different ages.
Each question is read aloud, and instructions are given to students to perform or answer actions.

In cases of language impairment due to brain damage, individual language abilities vary greatly.
There are a wide range of cases, from patients who cannot speak at all to those who use long sentences but whose meaning or syntax is not complete.
If a speech therapist sees about 10 patients a day, the activity materials used in each session will be different.
In other words, individualized materials suitable for each patient are needed, and materials for systematic and intensive training are needed, especially in the acute phase.

We hope that this systematic training and language tasks, which are woven into tasks that can promote auditory comprehension in patients with brain damage, will serve as a starting point of hope for many people with aphasia and cognitive communication disorders in Korea.
