Introduction to Aeronautics and Astronautics
Description
Book Introduction
The Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences first published 『Introduction to Aeronautical and Space Science』 in 1972 as an introductory book to introduce aeronautical and space science more easily and accurately to those who wish to study aeronautical and space science.
This sixth edition has been revised to provide an introductory text for college students majoring in aerospace engineering, college students studying to become aircraft pilots or mechanics, and the general public interested in aerospace science. The goal is to provide an easy-to-understand introduction to aerospace science with the basic knowledge required to graduate from high school.

Publisher's Review
In revising the 6th edition, the writing committee collected the results of a survey of professors teaching Introduction to Aerospace Science and opinions from readers and decided on the following direction for revision.
1.
This is an introductory book for college students studying to become aerospace engineers, aircraft pilots, and maintenance engineers, as well as the general public interested in aerospace science. It is written so that readers with basic knowledge of high school graduation can understand it without difficulty.
2.
Consistent difficulty level and consistency in terminology and symbols for each chapter.

3.
Introduction to the certification system operated by many countries around the world, including Korea, that manufacture and operate aircraft, for aircraft export and safe operation.
4.
Actively use photos and data of aerospace systems developed in our country.

In accordance with the above-mentioned revision direction, some parts were revised based on the 5th edition, and several chapters were newly written.

It is very difficult for readers to fully understand and know the broad field of aerospace engineering.
Therefore, 《Introduction to Aerospace Science》 is divided into four parts so that you can study them selectively according to your needs.

Part 1 provides an introduction to aerospace science in general.
In Part 2, we will learn about the principles of aerospace flight,
Part 3 covers the operating principles of various aerospace systems,
Part 4 covers avionics, aircraft instruments and subsystems, aviation operations, and certification systems.

Although the size of our country's aerospace industry is currently small compared to advanced aviation countries, our country's aerospace technology has advanced to the point where we can independently design and manufacture fighter jets and satellites, and develop launch vehicles to place our own satellites into Earth's orbit.
This is a remarkable development compared to 50 years ago when the first edition of Introduction to Aeronautics and Astronautics was published.
The Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences believes that its book, Introduction to Aeronautical and Space Sciences, has contributed to this development.
With this revision, we hope that Introduction to Aerospace Science will continue its tradition as an introductory text to aerospace science for readers who will lead the development of Korea's aerospace industry.
