Basic Astronomy
Description
Book Introduction
This book emphasizes the concepts of astronomy and the underlying physical theories, while also providing a solid foundation for further astronomical study.
While previous editions already included modern material on our own galaxy, external galaxies, and cosmology, this revised edition reflects the latest research findings throughout the book.
The long chapter on the solar system is divided into two parts: Chapter 7 deals with the general characteristics of the solar system, and Chapter 8 describes the individual celestial bodies of the solar system.
We also added a new chapter on exoplanets at the end of the book.
Astronomy has advanced at a tremendous pace over the past few years, so the content has been revised throughout the book, with the exception of a few chapters.
