Reading Compass 2 Reading Fluency Teacher's Guide
Reading Compass 2 Reading Fluency Teacher's Guide
Description
Book Introduction
Even today, when it is common to prepare for Korean language learning at home before school and to learn Korean before entering elementary school, there are still students in schools who have difficulty learning to read due to factors such as dyslexia, learning difficulties, and learning disabilities, as well as various cultural, economic, and linguistic characteristics.
Accordingly, the need for accurate diagnosis and appropriate educational support for learners who have difficulty reading arises.

The 『Reading Compass: Individualized Program for Reading Ability Improvement with BASA』 series was developed and revised through research to enable individualized education by examining the current performance level and developmental patterns of learners with severe reading difficulties.
This series focuses on reading as an academic survival skill for learners who require additional intervention based on their results on the Basic Academic Skills Assessment (BASA) reading test.
Therefore, it was planned to go beyond simply learning to read by memorizing the Korean alphabet, and to systematically develop reading strategies by developing various essential reading skills such as phonological awareness, fluency, vocabulary knowledge, and comprehension.

Volume 2, “Reading Fluency,” is composed of a “Student Version” centered around learners and a “Teacher Version” to assist learners, and consists of a total of 9 lessons in 3 stages.
In the first stage, nursery rhymes, poems, and short texts are included; in the second stage, appreciations, argumentative writings, and explanatory writings are included; and in the third stage, traditional fairy tales, role plays, and news articles are included. The length of the texts increases step by step, and learners are provided with various types of texts for each class.
In addition, through 'Going One Step Further', learners can learn the rules of reading that often appear in reading, and by engaging in activities that can make reading interesting and fun, they can feel confident and accomplished in reading.
The teacher's guide is designed for educators or parents to use with their learners.
