Project Risk Management Guidelines
Description
Book Introduction
This revised edition of the Project Risk Management Guidelines includes Part 1: General Guidance (2020), Part 2: Workshop Guidance (2021), and Part 3: Risk-Based Estimating Guidance (2022), along with the addition of Part 4: Schedule-Cost Integrated Risk Analysis Guidance.
This fourth edition goes beyond traditional cost-centric risk analysis to present a more realistic and reliable risk management approach that integrates schedule and cost.
The project environment is becoming increasingly complex and uncertain, and large-scale infrastructure and construction projects are experiencing frequent cost overruns and schedule delays.
Nevertheless, there are still many cases where the limitations of practical business management are felt by not integrating cost and schedule analysis. This guideline.
To address these issues, we analyzed the interrelationship between schedule and cost, aiming to facilitate more realistic and reliable forecasting and rational decision-making.
To this end, we referenced international standards such as the US GAO's Schedule Evaluation Guide and the AACE TCM Framework, and included the latest techniques such as merge bias, correlation, and probability branching for understanding the schedule-cost integrated risk analysis technique based on Monte Carlo simulation.
The 4th edition serves as a practice-oriented, integrated risk management guide to achieving the essential project management goal of "faster, cheaper."
