Throughout history, makeup has been considered an important means of expressing personal beauty and individuality, and the pursuit of beauty, a fundamental human desire, has been a constant source of interest.
With the recent explosive popularity of K-pop idols and the rise of cultural content such as K-dramas and movies on OTT platforms, the influence of Korean culture is growing by the day.
Accordingly, as K-beauty gains global popularity and interest in makeup grows, curiosity about improving one's personal makeup image and about makeup experts is also increasing day by day.

For students who are new to makeup and want to improve their personal image and become makeup experts, understanding the basics of makeup and beauty makeup is the most important gateway.
Accordingly, we have published an introductory book that systematically organizes the basics of makeup theory and practice and beauty makeup techniques.

This book is a comprehensive study of makeup basics and beauty makeup, and is divided into three major parts.
Part 1 is divided into ‘Understanding the Basics of Makeup’, Part 2 is ‘Understanding Makeup Techniques’, and Part 3 is ‘Makeup by Theme’ to help with systematic understanding.
Part 1 covers the basics of makeup, the history of makeup, anatomy and psychology, color and lighting, and design elements.
In Part 2, we have organized in detail the makeup products, basic makeup, point makeup, and basic makeup execution order to help you understand the basic techniques.
In Part 3, the characteristics and techniques of beauty makeup for each theme are systematically organized so that they can be practically applied to beauty makeup practice for each theme.

This textbook has tried to provide insight into the overall content of beauty makeup and to describe it in detail and easily by including as many photos, illustrations, and practical works as possible, but there may be some shortcomings.
We plan to continue to research and improve these areas in the future.
