A coloring book filled with love from beginning to end.

“If I could build a house anywhere I wanted, what style would it be?!”
If I had a fantasy like this, I would be happy and not get tired of it even if I did it all day.
The dream I must have drawn in my head at least once as a child is now vividly coming back to life at the tip of the colored pencil in my hand.

A total of 11 themed rooms will be created that will make you smile just by imagining them.

“I want to live in a room like this.
How about trying this kind of interior design?
I drew a lot of pictures while imagining the furniture arrangement and the structure of the room.
“In any room, there is complete freedom in the painting.”
Illustrator Chiaki Ida has created a new work based on the room she has always imagined, dreamed of, and enjoyed drawing, and has presented it in her new book, "Dream Room."
This is the second theme selected following the 'store' theme from the previous work that was first introduced.
This time, she has also completed it with a lovely coloring book full of her own girlish sensibility.


Analog sensibility, memories, leisure…

As you turn each page of 『The Dreaming Room』, a sense of familiarity and longing surges, like opening an old photo album.
I also remember myself from long ago, drawing with my bare hands in front of a sketchbook.
It feels as if the sketch from that time is coming back to life before my eyes and I am coloring it now, even though a lot of time has passed.

In that sense, "Dream Room" is very faithful to the basic purpose of a coloring book: to immerse oneself in coloring, purify one's emotions, and even relieve stress.
It has a completely different charm from coloring books with complex, repetitive, and geometric patterns.

"Dream Room" is a drawing style that is loved by all women, regardless of age, from elementary school students onward, and can be comfortably challenged by everyone from beginners to coloring experts.

Basically, it would be good to color it with colored pencils as if you were directly decorating the interior.
Using multiple colors to create shading makes it more vivid.
Experienced colorists can create a luxurious atmosphere by slightly blurring the color with watercolor pencils.
Since there are no separate patterns on the furniture or clothes and there is blank space in the background, it would be good to show off creative ideas and individuality according to each person's taste.


Why is it Chiaki Ida!

Chiaki Ida is one of Japan's most popular pen artists and illustrators.
He began to make a name for himself in earnest in 2015 and currently presents his work primarily through exhibitions.
The reason she was able to gain a wide fan base in such a short period of time is because of her delicate and precise details and her handwork with a pen that stimulates an analog sensibility.
“The most important thing is to draw the line carefully.
To avoid having a lot of lines and feeling messy.
For example, when drawing a room, I am conscious of conveying a vivid sense of life, as if people were living there.”
The author's aesthetics are also fully captured in the recently published 『Dream Room』.

“It’s pretty even if you color it, but it’s also nice to just look at the picture.”
“I’m excited to see what kind of picture will be in the next chapter,” was the response.
The dark brown lines from the previous work, "Dream Shop," have been evaluated as being more delicate in this book, with jokes changing according to the mood.
