Description
Book Introduction
“I don’t want to sleep. “I’m curious about winter!” Will the bear, who is curious about winter, ever experience a real winter? "Bear Who Is Curious About Winter" is a picture book that unfolds in dazzling, beautiful pastel colors about a bear who is so curious about winter that he doesn't want to sleep, and the cute and lovely struggles of the tree fairy, Tookoni, who tries to put the bear into hibernation. Oksana Bula, a young and talented Ukrainian writer, creates warm and vivid portraits of the adorable tree nymphs, the Tukhoni, along with the adorable bears that make you want to hug them and fall asleep. The visual contrast between the bear, who fills the screen with a warm, fluffy mass, and the tree nymph, Tukoni, who wiggles so cutely to put the bear to sleep will provide readers with a cute and delightful pleasure. The bear, desperately trying not to fall asleep, anxiously awaiting winter, will he finally experience it? The time of excited, thrilling anticipation passes at a snail's pace, and both the big bear and the tree nymphs, Tookoni, will have their own warm and happy winters. |

Publisher's Review
A bear who is so curious about winter that he whines,
A tree fairy trying to put a bear to hibernate
Tukoni's midwinter hibernation project!
What do you do in winter?
In late autumn, when colorful fallen leaves cover the entire mountain like a blanket, bears prepare to hibernate.
They make their homes in rock caves or logs, and they also gather food to eat whenever they have time.
In the cold winter, it is very difficult for animals to find food.
So some animals, including bears, hibernate during the long winter to conserve energy by moving their bodies as little as possible.
Before hibernating, bears eat a lot of fruit from trees to gain weight.
For bears, thick fat is like a blanket that keeps them warm during the winter.
Of course, bears don't just sleep all winter.
Sometimes they wake up while sleeping and eat the food they have stored.
One day, while the bear was busy gathering nuts from trees to store food for hibernation, he happened to meet a bison in the forest.
Bichon tells Bear about the fun he has had during the winter when the whole world is covered in white snow.
They say that they carry soft snow like clouds, dig deep into the snow to find food, and sometimes turn into snowmen, or rather, snow cows, covered entirely in snow.
As Bear listens to Bichon's story, he begins to wonder what on earth is going on during the winter while he sleeps.
While you were sleeping
Meanwhile, the tree nymphs, the Tukonis, are busy preparing to help the bear hibernate.
Only when the bears quickly go into hibernation can winter finally come, and the Tukonies have time to have a cup of tea at the wooden table.
The Tukonis carry dry branches inside cozy caves with south-facing openings to block the cold north wind and allow the warm sun to shine in longer.
To block the cold air rising from the ground, they lay down branches one by one, and on top of that, they pile up colorful fallen leaves to make a soft bed and pillows.
On top of that, a warm blanket of fallen leaves was laid out softly.
Tukoni also prepares simple meals and sleeping socks for the bears to eat during their long winter sleep, and hangs glow-in-the-dark stars from the ceiling.
Pat pat, pat pat, thanks to the diligent Tookonies, all the hibernating animals are sound asleep in their homes, and even the bear is sleeping soundly... Just when it seems like it, the bear opens one of its eyes.
Good night until the spring sun comes out!
Shh! The bear who had been whining and making excuses for wanting to play has now fallen asleep.
Who put the bear to sleep after all that effort? Just watching the bear's hibernation project will make you smile! Let's quietly step out into the yard so the bear can sleep soundly until the spring sun comes out. The tree fairies, Tookoni, will be waiting for their friends.
