Introducing the "Reading All Textbook Novels" series
Modern society is an age of knowledge information, where new information and knowledge are accumulated every day.

The ability needed by the generation growing up in this society is the ability to properly discern knowledge and information.
These are the ‘ability to think for oneself’ and the ‘ability to restructure acquired knowledge.’
These two abilities are important components of creativity and problem-solving skills, which are hot topics in education these days.

Furthermore, while in the past, teachers taught students objective and valid knowledge and information, and students simply acquired it, now students must be able to reproduce the knowledge they have acquired on their own.
We have entered an era where knowledge has meaning only when it is created, organized, and reorganized by individuals.
Now is the time to respect the process by which students construct knowledge, and to do so, descriptive and essay-type tests that allow students to fully express knowledge and information as their own are appropriate.
To meet these contemporary demands, the CNA Essay Research Team has planned "Reading All Textbook Novels."
There is a saying that 'it is better for ten people to read and discuss one book than for one person to read ten books.'
Accordingly, the research team carefully selected short stories included in Korean language textbooks and planned a book that would allow middle and high school students to understand and appreciate Korean literature more deeply.

This book provides a comprehensive overview of novels included in middle and high school Korean language and literature textbooks reflecting the 2015 curriculum, categorized by subject.

In Volume 3 of “Reading Textbook Novels”
A total of twelve works were selected from the works included in current middle and high school Korean language and literature textbooks, and the works were classified into four themes.
Part 1, "Capitalism and Our Lives," examines the changes in life brought about by the influx of modern civilization and presents works that allow us to connect these changes with our lives today. Part 2, "Era and Values," critically examines the lives of people from turbulent times and presents works that allow us to think together about the correct values ​​of each era.
In Part 3, “Reflections on Life and Death,” we explore how these reflections impact our lives through works that allow us to reflect on death in relation to life.
Furthermore, in Part 4, "Power and Individual Freedom," we compile works that allow us to discuss our stance as independent citizens. We confirm why media domination and freedom of the press must be guaranteed as attributes of power, and we critically approach the ideology deeply internalized within us.

The full text of the work is included so that you can fully appreciate the novel.
It introduces a variety of background knowledge to enable a three-dimensional appreciation of the work, and includes vocabulary definitions within the text, making it easy and enjoyable for even students who are reluctant to read literature due to difficulty understanding vocabulary.
In addition, we aim to provide interesting reading materials that help students understand the work, thereby helping them to study more deeply and with interest.

Through this book, you can encounter a living work of literature, thinking from the author's or the character's perspective, and enjoying the "joy of thinking" and "joy of broadening your horizons of perception" through various appreciations.
