Elementary Writing Achievement Standards for the 2022 Revised Korean Language Curriculum

[2nd grade 03-01] Write letters and words correctly.
[2nd grade 03-02] Have an interest in writing and express your thoughts and feelings in sentences.

▶ The secret to writing that starts with a word and then automatically completes the sentence!

If you start writing with verbs and adjectives, you will naturally be able to think of subjects, objects, etc., so you can write sentences easily and quickly.
For example, if you give them the word 'fairy tale book' and ask them to write a sentence, most students have a hard time thinking of what to write, but if you give them the word 'cold' and ask them to write a sentence, they will naturally think of what is cold and when it is cold.
So, 『Aha Elementary School Writing: Pre-elementary to 1st grade』 Volume 2 selects 60 adjectives as basic words to start writing.

▶ Connect sentences and paragraphs are completed in no time!

Paragraph writing is a very difficult activity for elementary school students.
A paragraph is a series of sentences that are connected to express a single idea, but students have a hard time understanding it.
This book teaches you that simply connecting sentences will naturally create paragraphs.
Rather than forcing students to write paragraphs, we structured the writing so that paragraphs could be created naturally by simply connecting the sentences they wrote, which helped students feel confident and accomplished in their writing.

▶ A book written by Professor Choi Young-hwan, a Korean language learning expert chosen by 6 million parents!

Professor Choi Young-hwan, who wrote this book, is the number one author in the field of Korean language learning, having been chosen by 6 million parents for his books, “Miracle Korean Language Learning” and “Aha Korean Language” series.
"Aha Elementary Writing: Pre-Elementary to First Grade" is a book for pre-elementary and first grade students. It helps children who are just beginning to write practice writing sentences and paragraphs from the basics.
This allows you to start writing easily and enjoyably by automatically completing sentences and paragraphs starting from words.

Author's Note

Have you heard of "shorthand writing"? Lately, the term "making sentences out of words" has become more common.
In the lower grades of elementary school, we do activities where we write sentences using one word.
Students are given nouns, often the names of objects, and asked to write sentences using them. However, many students spend a lot of time thinking about a single word, yet are unable to write even a simple sentence.

To get students to write sentences, start with three words so they can connect them to make sense of the words, then gradually reduce the number of words to two or one.
However, if you give a verb or adjective instead of a noun, just one word is enough.
Because a verb or adjective has the same effect as two or three related words with just one word.
For example, if you give students the word 'see,' they can easily think of the subject or object and write various sentences naturally, such as "I look at a storybook," "I watched a movie with my mom," and "The dog looks in the mirror."

In this book, students write four sentences by grouping adjectives into groups of four and comparing their meanings. When the completed sentences are connected, they naturally become one paragraph.
I hope that by using this method, all students can easily learn to accurately distinguish the meaning of words and write sentences and paragraphs.
