Description
Book Introduction
Brief Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP) is an approach developed by Hans Strupp at Vanderbilt University, drawing on modern psychoanalysis, particularly object relations theory. It focuses on the client's core interpersonal patterns. Along with Lester Luborsky's Core Conflict Relationship Theme (CCRT) approach, which emerged around the same time, TLDP has significantly advanced the practice and empirical research of psychodynamic brief therapy, contributing significantly to dispelling the fog of mysticism and authoritarianism in psychoanalysis.
Through these, many counselors were able to easily understand the core of the interpersonal or object-relational approach.
This book offers a more concrete, vivid, and understandable explanation than any other book based on the object-relations approach. Of course, the content described in this book, or the emphasis of the short-term dynamic approach known as TLDP, cannot be said to represent modern psychoanalysis or the object-relations approach.
Psychoanalysis is much more complex and rich.
The knowledge and wisdom that psychoanalysis has accumulated about the human mind and life cannot be contained in just one or two books.
Nevertheless, this book does a good job of illustrating the core of transference analysis in the here and now, while making little use of abstract psychoanalytic concepts.
