Into the book
The client, Lee Seong-bo (pseudonym), is a second-year high school student (18 years old). His grades are average and he is the youngest of one son and four daughters.
The family is relatively well-off, as the father is a civil servant and the mother runs a private business.
The reason for the counseling was that the client's older sister, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia and took a leave of absence from school to receive treatment from an oriental medicine doctor and a psychiatrist, had not been very effective. However, after consulting with this counselor, she returned to school and is living a normal life. The client's mother brought her here in the hope that she could also receive help with her problems.
According to the mother, the client had excellent grades in elementary and middle school and was planning to send her child to Seoul National University in the future. However, after entering high school, her grades declined and her personality changed. She did not talk to anyone at school or at home and only stayed in her room. She was worried that it would be difficult for her child to go to university, so she came to see the counselor.
